Cell Phone Help

Getting a new cell phone tomorrow, need some suggestions on what to get. (Verizon, btw)

EnV 3, EnV touch, LG Glance, or if you want a blackberry get the new Blackberry Niagara. It's like the bold, but for verizon.

i am also getting a new phone in the next couple days. i have a glyde but i am on my 5th or 6th replacement, so it is about time to get something else haha. and any personal experience with the phones would be nice, not just these few phones look cool (im not just saying you trutrojan, just in general)

how is the envy touch different then the voyager, and how is the envy 3 different then the envy 2 besides the front screen. haha

and i dont use the internet or anything like that. i text a lot, so i just want a good texting phone. i dont really like the envy phones though because of bulk. i dont really need that huge keyboard either. so i think im leaning towards the dare/versa

its quite a [expletive] going on the internet with this though but its good if you wanna check your email, myspace (anything thats mobile friendly, really), and use AIM... basic stuff but you gotta keep pressing "down" lol...

i bought that for like 150 bucks altogether but thats because it was new at the time (bought it in fall/winter of 2007)

I have the glyde and I hate it. I was just suggesting those phones because they were what I was looking for for a potential replacement.

i dont really hate my glyde at all. it just keeps having different problems. i am going away to college in the fall and i dont need my phone to break again. so far my glyde- call speaker didnt work (i had to use speakerphone every time i called anyone), one of the buttons on the keyboard jammed (i couldnt type anything), the tocuh screen would only press the bottom left of the screen (twice), and i think one other thing. i got a new phone each time, but now it is about time to get a totally new one haha

 

i think im leaning towards the dare, but im gonna wait a couple weeks, i heard they have a new phone coming out sometime soon

I have the Verizon Voyager and love it. The Blackberry Storm is expensive and has so many unnecessary features. Unless you're a traveling businessman, don't get the Storm.

Do they even have the Blackberry Curve for Verizon or is that only for AT@T? If they have it, I would recommend getting it.

Storm 2 comes out VERY soon so idk maybe wait for it?

Also, anyone know where to get ringtones/wallpapers for free? (Besides myxer, because last time I tried them it said that it doesn't send to verizon anymore)

i got verizon and i use myxer for all my ringtones. i think they tell you to download the file and email it to your cell number. when you get the text on the phone, press Options and press "Save as ringtone"

 

thats how i do mine. unless if they stopped offering you to download them and doing it yourself then i dont know.

Just transfer the stuff through a cable..

 

The phone doesnt come with somesort of memory card slot or something of that sort to place the fiels on there and then read them off the phone? Thats how I've done it for the longest time

i am deciding between the dare and alias 2. anyone have any experience with either? mainly the alias 2 because i have seen the dare way more.

 

right now my basic +/- are

dare- better camera, touch screen, lighter

alias- actual keyboard (a plus, and its pretty damn cool), screen is protected

 

 

i dont know much more then that. and their batteries are about the same

i think im leaning towards the alias after looking at a few reviews. i dont have a data plan, and i have an itouch, so my phone is almost strictly for texting and some phone calls. i think the alias 2 is great for this use

I've never been a fan of the Alias or Alias 2. The dare I know is a really cool phone, a few of my friend have it and it has so many cool features that other phones don't have. With the Alias, you can't have a custom home screen, or be able to actually write out your text messages like the Dare.

 

 

writing out the messages doesnt seem worth it. i think it would be faster/easier by just typing it. especially because my handwriting is awful, its probably not gonna recognize some of it.

 

but it is true that the dare has more features, but my thing is that i have an ipod touch, so if i want to play games or anything then i would use that. im not gonna be paying for a data plan, so i would be using the phone almost only for texting and phone calls. and i think that the alias keyboard might be better for that

^Up to you. I personally hate the look of the Alias keyboard.. it looks so corny. But if you're into that it's probably the right fit for you. Also the Motorola Calgary comes out in quarter four, which will have a full keyboard, and an actual slide up screen. Google it if you want more info it looks pretty sick.
