With so few teams having enough cap room to move Boozer and his $12.7 million contract, Stein says another possibility is working with a team with a “good-sized trade exception”. In return, the Nets would presumably get a player who’s paid less than $3.75 million, the TE’s value. So let me get this correct.. The Nets aren't trading for Boozer but helping in a deal? .. Or i could be wrong and misread the whole thing and the TE is there to help the deal go through for Boozer to come to the Nets. Either way this trade would shake things up if Boozer left Utah as it looks like Milsap might leave Utah also and go to Portland but who knows these days in the NBA? .. Now, if the Nets get involved, I'm not sure what they will be doing for the Heat OR the Bulls. I was told Chicago has given up on Boozer because Miami had already had this in the bag, for Haslem and probably James Jones...and salaries work. Well, the only players the Nets can bring in using their exception (in a three-way) would be CJ Miles or possibly Dorell Wright (can't think of his salary at this time). But it doesn't make sense to involve a third team, because the Heat and the Bulls can both snag Boozer and match salaries to within 25%. I think Utah needs to because they had to pull out a loan to keep Millsap IIRC putting them over the cap. Matching salaries wouldn't make sense for them because I think they'd go into the LT. I would rather see Wright come over then Miles however. We have the shooting secure with Hayes, Yi, Dooling, Rafer, Lee etc. at various positions + Miles is more risky to take on then Wright is .. Well, why would they just give up on Yi when they saw how well he played before his injury? He's been working hard this summer as well. And if they won't get Boozer as you claim, it wouldn't make sense to give up on the PF they have. Exactly, Yi has been improving noticeably recently. i am eager to see how he does now as he will get more minutes starting next season. Nets Joining Boozer Trade Talks?July 18, 2009, 6:54 pm Utah’s Deseret News reports the Nets are now among the teams talking to the Jazz about Carlos Boozer. “Chicago, Miami, New York, Detroit and now New Jersey have been most prominently mentioned as possible destinations for Boozer,” writes Tim Buckley, implying the Nets only recently joined the chase. One name being floated, and by all accounts unrealistically, is Carlos Boozer from Utah. The Nets simply don't have what Utah would require -- unless they'd be willing to part with Brook Lopez, which is not going to happen. There isn't much more a chance of this happening than signing Glen Davis. The Nets are probably going to stick to doing what they've been doing the last couple of weeks, and that is watch mode.
