ChosenOne
[expletive] man we cant pull a game out for [expletive] right now it is really starting to piss me off. Also Brooks please get Healthy so we can stop playing Lowery so much, 1-13 from the floor and 0-6 from deep. He also had some very good looks as well thats what makes it even worse. htown11
No one really expected the Rockets to hold onto the lead right :glasses: I think Brad Miller and Luis Scola may be the worse defensive combination in the NBA. Soft as hell, Brad can use an excuse he's old and slow. As far as Luis Scola goes his defense has hit an all time low, it's pathetic what he let Milsap do in OT. 3-25 from three point land 12%. Rockets are lucky they caught the Jazz on a bad night particularly for Deron, both teams played like [expletive] and Milsap cleaned up the [expletive] in OT and told everyone in the building to just go home.

htown11
What a dumb schedule! The Rockets travel all the way to Boston next and then fly back to Houston lol.
htownborn
This doesn't make any damn sense the Rockets are playing the way they were early in the season. I mean a couple of nights ago against Portland we had over a 10 point led going into the 4th quater and blew it, tonight we had a 14 point lead at the half and came out with the same result. And why the hell are the Rockets in love with the damn 3 so [expletive]ing much 3-25 are you [expletive]ing serious I mean after you shot ten 3 pointers and only make 2 shouldn't it be time to look for other options IDK like actually attacking the [expletive]ing rim like they did in the first half. I also found it very stupid to take out Hill who was actually having a pretty solid game and Ish Smith who gave the Rockets a spark off of the bench. And I also don't understand why T-Will didn't see no kind of action tonight aswell. I don't know what the problem is but the Rockets need to hurry up and get it right or make a trade soon.

Completely agree, there is no way Lowery should have played 43+ minutes tonight and Miller play 36+ minutes. T Will should have got some time and Smith more than only 9 minutes. Miller made one play all night long (charge), outside of that he was completely worthless getting beat play after play and jacking up every three ball he got his hands on(1-7). Hill and Patterson should have played all of his 36 minutes tonight. I hate to say this but coaching did have alot to do with our loss tonight. htown11
I hate to say this but coaching did have alot to do with our loss tonight. You shouldn't hate to say it because it's the truth. I like Rick and his resume speaks volumes, but this year he has made some very questionable calls with key players. When he gets it right it's awesome but when he gets it wrong it costs the Rockets the game. It makes no sense to leave Scola and Miller out on the court together for that long. It's just not a realistic combo especially when Miller isn't making the three on the offensive end. It's not worth the trade off at all. The Rockets have so many one way players that are good at doing specific things, outside of Courtney Lee and possibly now Patrick Patterson who hasn't played much who else plays both ends consistently. Lowry- good defender, hustles, but who knows what he will do on the offensive end on any given night. Martin- Offense no D Battier- Defense no offense Scola- Offense horrible defenseMiller- Hit or miss offense now and zero defense Hill- A mystery to say the least....raw Ish- Dish and penetrate but leaving him open for a jump shot is wise, and nothing great on D.Bud- Offensive machine when he can get it going, no defense. Lee- Plays both ends really well IMO and consistent when doing it. Brooks- Offense no defenseHayes- Hats off to the guy hes worked on his offense and had some nice games this season, hes worked on his free throw shooting, and he is not valued until he's gone and the Rockets feel the punch right now. Richness in depth but very one dimensional and when the shot isn't falling what do the Rockets do they crumble into pieces. The Rockets will have to make trades it's obvious, getting someone they actually want (a legit star) and not these little "accessories" to the puzzle seems nearly impossible. I have said this before and I still stick by it, If we can can get a legit center we can be a good/consistent team.
Owner Real Deal Posted January 9, 2011 Author Owner Report Share Posted January 9, 2011 Houston's problems come in a package, of course... 1) Their three best players are their worst defenders. I could probably score on Scola in the post, over and over again. Martin doesn't play defense. Brooks is the same way...and, sad enough, it seems like he has lost his touch and can't shoot anymore. 2) Adelman is in love with Brad Miller and Luis Scola. He's always had this thing for bigs that can shoot the ball...works well in the Princeton. It's a plus if they can pass. He was obsessed with Miller back in Sactown, and now he found him another one in Scola. One can score the ball, the other really has to heat up from downtown before he makes a big impact, and neither play any sort of defense, ever...probably two of the worst bigs in the league on that end of the court. 3) Some of the best defenders on the team are a wreck on offense. Lowry is trouble...been saying that all year long, scores the ball but can't shoot worth a lick. Battier is useless if he's not spotting up. Hayes doesn't get the ball enough to make a difference. Lee really isn't polished enough on the offensive end to take over a game, if needed, and he doesn't drive to the tin as much as he should. 4) 35% of Kevin Martin's shots are three-point attempts. That's more than Ron Artest (32%), almost Ray Allen (36%) and Martin is supposed to be the team's primary scoring option that also has to create for others. Other teams that have their definitive primary options as three-point shooters? Bobcats, Cavaliers, Pacers, Clippers, Bucks, Suns (with J-Rich), Jazz and Wizards...and only one of those teams have a winning record, and that's because they are a more complete squad. 5) No Yao, which changes the way Battier plays defense, and forces everyone else to actually defend their man. Hayes is a good defender, don't get me wrong, but Yao's length, combined with his defensive skills, changes everything at the rim. Miller, Hill, Scola...none of them can do that. Hayes is trapped in a PF's body and is no Ben Wallace when it comes to athleticism (certainly talking about the young Ben). A lot to fix, not much time to fix it.
