Built Ford Tough
So, apperantly James Johnson is the Raptors starting point forward and DeMar DeRozan is the starting point guard. At least according to the PA announcer.
Built Ford Tough
You can tell when DeRozan is feeling it when he doesn't even hesitate to put up a three and swishes it. And now he does what he does best, finishes an oop in transition. 13 points for DeRozan on 6/7 shooting. Is it safe to say he enjoys playing in the 02 Arena? Lopez is dominating the Raptors inside, though. What does he have, 10 points already? I think every point he has scored has been off of a layup or dunk, too. Buckets!
Brook Lopez is killing the Raptors. Get Ajinca on him, maybe it'll stop.

Built Ford Tough
Has Demar being making shots or attacking the basket? And who is been put on him? Mostly making mid range jumpers. I think he had one layup off of a drive to start the game and one ally oop in transition, but the other 9 points he scored in the 1st came off of jumpers. Vujacic started guarding him, but they put Outlaw on him when Outlaw came into the game. As for the Lopez comment, they are sending him as a second defender whenever Vujacic was getting posted up. Nice drive by Bayless. He has had a solid game so far. He definitely has outplayed Calderon today, but it is not liek that matters as Calderon needs to play his mandatory 35 minutes. The most fursturating thing about this game has to be DeRozan, though. Guy starts out on fire scoring 13 points in the 1st, then he sits on the bench for about the first 8 minutes of the 2nd quarter, gets 2 shots in the quarter (one of which was at the very end of the half) and basically is forced to stand in the corner on offense all 3rd quarter. He still have 13 points and has only taken like 3 shots since the first. That is inexcusable. Bargnani is their guy, and he deserve to be that guy, he's a scoring machine. DeRozan only has one good year so far, he ain't #1 guy just yet. Let him devlop first and improve his game before you give him more minutes man. Bargnani is the way to go. Bayless has played good so far but is too damn inconsistant too be playing. Buckets!
You see people, this is why Deron Williams is a SUPERSTAR! Is def better than that overrated Chris Paul. Deron Williams just made another assist for game winning shit. It's 1a and 1b with Rose and Williams.

Erick Blasco
Very athletic finish by DeRozan
Erick Blasco
Awful vision by Lopez. The open man was in the corner, but Lopez panicked and forced a pass to Williams.
Erick Blasco
Not a great pass by Gaines---at Humphries' feet---but a good catch, good hands, and a strong finish. Lopez blocks two shots the last two possessions.

Erick Blasco
Outlaw is such an awful defender. DeRozan pumps on a step back jumper and Outlaw goes sprawling into him. He has no discipline in his game.

Erick Blasco
What a lucky break for the Nets...DeRozan gets called on a fluky goaltend.
Erick Blasco
Williams is getting past his initial defender whenever he wants and the Raptors are bringing a guy to the paint to cut him off. If Humphries were a better jump shooter, Williams would have 30 assists. His pocket passes have really set up his teammates, but he hasn't been great at setting up his own jumper. Erick Blasco
Humphries gets run through by Bargnani. He doesn't move his feet and winds up off balance at the point of contact. Strong move by Bargnani.
Erick Blasco
Was that Amir Johnson with a nice block on a broken play? D-Will bobbled the ball earlier in the possession though which really blew up that play. Gaines was forced to create which is not something you want happening more often than not. Erick Blasco
Very good defensive possession by the Raptors. They overloaded the strong side on the double and since Lopez has poor vision he couldn't pass to the open man. Then DeRozan rotates nicely on a screen/roll and draws the charge on Humphries. Erick Blasco
Lopez with some solid defense all game long. Johnson isn't a strong enough finisher near the basket.
