The Regime
Need better guard play to win today (they've sucked the previous two meetings). I'm expecting a monster game out of Kobe who has shot 29% against the Spurs this season. I'm hoping that the Spurs used up their ridiculously good shooting against Miami a couple nights ago lol. Erick Blasco
Bynum didn't get over quick enough to cut Ginobili off, bad sign to start on defense. But in typical Lakers fashion, he plays volleyball on the glass and dunks a putback.
Erick Blasco
Much better possession by Bynum, moves his feet, blocks Ginobili's drive.
Erick Blasco
The Lakers frontcourt is dominating the Spurs frontcourt to start. Bad start by Duncan.
Erick Blasco
Great, great, great ball movement by the Lakers. They look sharp to start.
Erick Blasco
And that's where the Spurs make up for their poor frontcourt start. Parker can score at will against Fisher. Fisher's strong, but Parker's too fast for him.
Erick Blasco
Good recovery by Bynum. After the first possession, he's been great as Gasol drains a jumper. This is where the Lakers are great. Kobe's missed a few shots but has done a good job distributing, and Gasol and Bynum are dominating on both ends.
kingfish
Parker is killing us. Fisher sucks. :wallbash3:
The Regime
A few flat shots from Kobe, where's the elevation?
Erick Blasco
A few flat shots from Kobe, where's the elevation? An astute observation. This is what happens when a player gets older. The legs go.
Erick Blasco
Great penetration by Ginobili dissecting the Lakers defense.
Erick Blasco
Strong drive by Kobe, but also under control. No chance for Ginobili to flop his way to a call.
Erick Blasco
Bonner has to sag off Odom to prevent the drive and Odom just pulls up and hits a three. Will Bonner be able to shoot well enough to compensate for his lack of footspeed on Odom?
Erick Blasco
And Bonner makes up for it with a three. Good response. PArker is so good at penetrating he drew three defenders. Fisher is shooting well to start though.
kingfish
Yeahhh buddy. Bynum is dominating on defense and Kobe is going to work on offense.
The Regime
We're killing the Spurs on the glass. Keep it up, I don't want any letdowns.
Erick Blasco
Even if the legs are gone, Kobe's still too tall and strong for George Hill down low. He gets a putback on the glass, and a turnaround in the post. Artest is moving well in the triangle, Fisher is hitting shots, the Lakers are incredibly sharp to start. This is peak Lakers we're seeing.
Erick Blasco
Parker is having trouble scoring at the basket simply because Bynum and Gasol are too damn long for him to finish over.
Vitasoy
Its only the first quarter, but good start for the Lakers.
Erick Blasco
Then Gasol blocks Duncan, another sign of the Lakers superior length and Duncan's decline. Plus Duncan offers no resistance on a Gasol made jumper.
Check my Stats
This is a clinic/.
Erick Blasco
Hill misses as open jumper, McDyess misses a layup, Hill throws the ball away. Spurs aren't crisp. Obviously they're down by 21, but they were in the flow of things to to start the game. Now their bench is discombobulated.
