platoon793
Can some people list a few good foreign movies? I've watched a couple in the past couple of days (Joyeux Noel and The Death of Mr. Lazarescu) and was wondering what other foreign movies are good. My Hastings has a "Foreign Film" section, so I was wondering what to rent, since I don't know much about foreign movies so I wouldn't know what's good or bad. xx.
Don't watch too many at once because then you will get tired of them. Since your about the recent movies, watch The Lives of Others and Let the Right One In, both really good.
platoon793
Nah, I don't think I'll get bored of them. As long as a movie is good, I'll watch it. Don't care at all if it's foreign or not.
xx.
Yeah they're still enjoyable but you dont wanna go watch 10 straight foreign movies because then you just wont be in the mood for one in a while, thats how I am, I like to always switch it up. The Artesticle
If you want to watch a moving film I suggest "In America." Regardless of what the title states, it is an Irish film. It's about an Irish family, husband and wife and two daughters, who move into New York. They struggle because they are not in good shape economically, and because they cannot let go of the death of their son. But soon they meet a man in their apartment who will turn their lives around. It's a very moving movie, and the end is pretty sad. I suggest you take a look though, I think you'll love it.
Camby23Land
"City of God" (in subtitles) is an absolute must. "Life Is Beautiful" (translated into English) is another one I enjoyed. platoon793
You clearly do not get what I'm trying to say... nevermindWell, I don't think you get what I'm trying to say. You said you like to switch it up, as in not watch 10-15 foreign movies or whatever in a row. You said you would still enjoy it, but not as much. I'm saying I'm not like that. I don't get tired watching a certain type of movie (foreign, silent, etc.). EDIT: BTW, thanks for the suggestions. OldChili
What? It's called Let Me In, and it's being directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield).
platoon793
LMAO. What were they thinking? A remake already? Kind of sounds like Quarantine, which was remade only a year after the original (Rec).
OldChili
They're most likely going to [expletive] it up.
platoon793
I've read it's not really a remake, just a readaptation of the novel. At least that's what the author of the original novel said about the new movie.
