kingfish
For games that have sequels and year to year sports games, I feel like sometimes they hold back so theyll have more to add to the next game. Like for example the my player thing on 2k, they added so much more like press conferences, endorsements, and more options to it. The my player in 2k10 was absolute [expletive]. It was somewhat fun to play but the structure of it was garbage and there was a lot of glitches like the insider kept telling you you had a decision to make and nothing would happen, and there was no contracts or anything all you had was training camps. I wonder why couldnt they have added all this stuff to it last year? It cant be that hard to think of [expletive] like that for a career mode in a sports game. So I feel like gaming companys hold back, and I cant really blame them for it.
bigdog17k
Well yeah, I'm sure they hold back because if they didn't why would people continue to buy next years game if the one they have is already the best it can be. I feel that EA Sports (Tiburon) does this the most, and why it makes them the absolute worst.
Newman
Definitely in Sports games' case yes because they have to release a new game every year and only by adding 'new' features would they be able to attract buyers.
Smitty
If they made a 100% perfect game, there would be no point in making a new one because there would be nothing to improve on. They would just give the occasional update for it through the year(s)
Guest STL10
Madden holds back all the time. Did you know gameflow was in Madden 01? It was called EasyPlay. Anyways, Madden has no reason to improve their game. They are a MONOPOLY.
