Owner Real Deal Posted September 15, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted September 15, 2010 Where do you rank him at? I've read that many think he has pulled ahead of Jerry. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think?Putting Moss ahead of Rice is absurd, even for ecn(although if he wasn't a Niners fan, he'd probably rank Moss 1st lol)
EastCoastNiner
Greatest: Jerry Rice Pure Skill: Randy Moss This is where being the "best" and "greatest" differs for me. If I was starting a team, give me a Moss over Rice, but when it comes down to "greatness", Rice has him edged for now. However, once the Patriots win a lot more Super Bowls in the next few years, it may be Moss.

Flash
Whoa, Irvin over Moss? -_- Is that because of the rings? Otherwise, I don't see how... This gives a pretty good analysis of why I put him there: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=257 Irvin was a monster on a run first team putting up stats close to Jerry who was in a pass first, west coast team. Jerry is a the top but the argument can be made that Irvin's prime was almost or just as good as Rice's.
Flash
For the record, I have no doubt that by the time Randy retires he'll be at least number 2 on this list if not the best receiver ever.

When I saw you had the last post before I opened this topic again, I KNEW you would have Michael Irvin ahead of Moss. . http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/212/722/michaelirvin_display_image.jpg?1272472262 Sorry, but you need to get of Miami's U's jock. Flash
If irvin isn't playing in that run first system in Dallas his numbers would be on par with Rice. Has nothing to do with him being a Cane. He was a Cane before I was even born and I hate the Cowboys.

magicbalala245
Does T.O. not get any love? Forget the baggage he brings with him. But just straight on talents and physical god given abilities is T.O. a top 5 WR of all time. But just straight on talents and physical god given abilities is T.O. a top 5 WR of all time. On talent alone he's top 10 and easily a HOF'er. His "issues" shouldn't overshadow his performance on the field.

Guest Michael Jordan
Did you enjoy reading those bleacher report articles. . What are you talking about? True football enthusiasts know that in the old-school it was WAY harder to pass. The rules today encourage passing, as during the 60's-80's the rules weren't in place. I mispelled Largent so I don't know who he is? LOL! Anyone who doesn't know who he is doesn't know [expletive] about the NFL. STFU, the only reason you put him up there is because you heard his name in an article and decided to make yourself looks smart. Meanwhile what you don't know is everyone body [expletive]ing knows who steve largent is. Just like everyone knows who Stan Musial is. Why don't you go create another fake user name so can make more retarded bleacher reports.
AboveLegit
Jerry Rice is the all time greatest, no doubt about it. The man won 3 superbowls and took the Raiders to another one. He is the all-time leader in touchdowns and he was a wide receiver, not only that, but the man with the 2nd most touchdowns, Emmit Smith, isn't even close on the all-time list. Rice was able to go down the middle, was an amazing red-zone target, and had the surest hands of anybody who ever played. He wasn't as talented as Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Tim Brown, or even Marvin Harrison, but he is by all standards the greatest receiver ever. 1. Rice2. Irvin3. Moss4. Owens5. Hutson6. Largent7. Harrison8. Carter9. Monk10. Alworth My list isn't perfect by any means, it's just something I put together quickly.

Just because you lead the league in categories with a bunch of [expletive]ty WR's doesn't make you great. . Let's see how Huston and the other WR's would do in today's NFL where players are built like tanks, run extremely fast, and are much more talented.
