Guest Michael Jordan
NEW YORK -- I suppose you have to respect the words of a Hall of Fame quarterback who was sacked 313 times in 131 career games. --Fanhouse LINK

reno
Yeah...ok. Let's see how he'd hold up against today's athletes and modern defensive schemes. Its unfair and ridiculous to compare athletes of the older era to modern day beast. Stars are just made bigger and better athletes than they were in the past. But if you compare how the game was played back then to how it is now, the nfl does seem like a [expletive] league, and doesn't look like its gonna get any better, probably worse. Perception isn't necessarily the reality. With the how fast and strong the athletes are now the hits are probably way more violent than they ever were back then even with the amount of padding now and the helmets. bigdog17k
Staubach has a point. Back in the era he played there weren't as many protective rules. Guys use to come at you and wanna rip your head off. Not to mention today there are more advancements in sports medicine, upgraded equipment, etc.
