Icing the Kicker: For or Against it?

Despite my favorite team losing to the Texans yesterday due to Gary Kubiak calling a timeout right as our kicker hit a 52 yard field goal in overtime, I personally like the strategy. It's an intelligent move by the coaching staff, and gives them an opportunity to have an impact on the game.

What are your thoughts on it?

I'm for it, I thought they did change the rule that you couldn't do it right before the play that it had to go clearly before the play. Either way it's all on the kicker to over come that, and they should be able to. It costs teams sometimes too.

With so many mediocre kickers in the league currently, I'm all for it. To damage an already awful kicker psychologically is a huge bonus, especially players like David Buehler or, in the case of the 'Skins, Graham Gano (who is one of my favorite kickers), is a huge percentage I'm willing to take. Even if I ice a kicker and he misses it. You take that chance.
