Carmelo Anthony to the Lakers?

Recommended Posts

I guess it means Clippers (combination: Gordon, Kaman, Jordan, Griffin, Aminu) or Warriors (Steph Curry wow I'll do that trade in a sec)...

Warriors are out of the conversation. The article states one of the Southern California teams not Northern California teams.

Are Warriors not in Southern Cali? Anyways, it says "one" I'm sure it refers to the Clippers first before it does to Lakers.

Lakers will only be willing to trade Bynum... but I tell ya, Nuggets will take Favors over Bynum 100 out of 100 times. Favors might be unproven but his potential of awesomeness is just too high to ignore and unlike Bynum, Favors is fresh and has no history of injury.

Melo to LA... ain't happenin... sides, you don't want that piece of lazy trash, he don't play defense (but when he does, he plays well, but it's rare)... :lol:

According to Chris Broussard, Melo's choices are...

Nets, Lakers, Rockets, maybe Bulls. But Knicks definite No. 1 choice.

But...if he goes to LA, it's to the Clips. The Lakers aren't going to wheel and deal with Denver, and vice-versa.

Didn't one of the reports (a while ago) mention that Denver wants to trade him out of the West?

I don't think it's a good idea to trade Bynum and Odom either. The reason why LA has such an advantage coming into this season especially, is because of their talented front court.

The duo of Kobe/Melo sounds good on paper, but I honestly do not know how well they will perform together. They don't seem to complement eachother very well if you ask me.

Would be a dream to see Rockets got him, I would rather be pessimistic about things, so I can be super happy when great things do happen

Yeah, I would trade Bynum and fillers (we sort of have fillers...Vujacic), but I wouldn't trade Drew AND Odom, unless Caracter plays like a starting power forward up until February.

Not going to happen (Caracter playing that good) and...not going to happen (Melo to the Lakers) because Denver would not take our draft picks (they are all lower first-rounders), we don't have any massive expiring contracts (Vujacic is $5 million), and our young talent is injury-prone.

Plus, already mentioned, we are out West. We have eliminated the Nuggets numerous times in the postseason. Denver has no reason to watch us win more rings.

@schahayed lakers really involved

I'm not sure how serious of a destination the Lakers are but any package would almost certainly have to include Bynum along with Ebanks and picks, not a bad deal for Denver since they'd get Bynum but the other pieces are lacking.

If the Lakers could basically win two titles with Bynum making little to no impact due to injuries, then adding Melo to the mix would just be nasty. It would also spell Kobe of a lot of the offensive workload and add some time to how long he can sustain being a top 5 player. Not to mention it could add an extra 2-3 years to the length of time the Lakers can continue being an elite contender.
