Prototypical Lineups

Which teams run a more prototypical lineup nowadays?

One team that comes to mind is the Celtics. Rondo's style of play is exactly what the point guard positions asks for. He's a pass first guard, by far the best ball handler on the team, and the leader on the fastbreak. Ray Allen is the prototypical SG, can run the floor in transition, stretch the floor, and is a great scorer. Pierce does a bit of everything, he can post players up, has a good midrange jumper, and can shoot from the three. KG is becoming a more traditional PF as he loses his athleticism. Perkins' game is definitely that of an old school center as he is the banger down low who plays great defense and has a nice touch deep in the paint.

What other teams run a prototypical lineup? Do you prefer this style over a lineup consisting of unique players such as the Mavs with Dirk Nowitzki or the former two center frontcourt of Hakeem-Sampson?

A quick point who can stick a jumper and get into the paint, and a big you can consistently run the pick and roll with. Knock down shooters off the bench. A banging C or PF to compliment the other big who can score.

In all honestly the Bulls have the closest thing to an ideal lineup (in my opinion of course) in terms of fit only, not talent itself.

I like the Blazers the best. Miller is the passing point guard, Roy is the all star shooting guard who leads the team and takes the clutch shots, Batum is very versatile and stretches the floor, good defender and good length, Aldridge is the prototypical power forward with good range and puts up consistent numbers, and then Oden at Center, who is solid in the post and has the strength. They also have Pryzbilla and Camby who have proved to be solid substitutes due to Oden's injuries. Then off the bench you have Bayless who adds speed and a nice change of pace from when Miller's on the floor. Wes Matthews also, who was fantastic last year starting for Utah. Then you have Pendergraph and Cunningham who are solid backups as well.

Personally not a fan of Mike Miller.

Mike, or Andre?

Boston, Chicago, LA Clippers, LA Lakers (when Blake starts), Memphis, Minnesota (when Rubio arrives), Philly (if Brand is at the four), Portland, Sacramento (Beno starting)...a little generous considering how those players play, of course, but those are the teams that seem to be following closer to that traditional lineup.

Do I prefer it? Depends on the system, of course, but it seems to work best, for the most part, because of the variety of play you get from top to bottom.
