magicbalala245
The Denver Nuggets are having serious discussions about a four-way trade that would land Carmelo Anthony with the New Jersey Nets, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations. The proposed deal, sources said, also would involve the Utah Jazz and the Charlotte Bobcats. It would deliver Nets rookie forward Derrick Favors, Jazz veteran Andrei Kirilenko and multiple first-round picks to Denver in exchange for their franchise player, potentially bringing a resolution to Anthony's uncertain future before the Nuggets hold their first practice of the new season. Sources told ESPN.com that the deal, which has yet to be finalized, also would send former All-Star point guard Devin Harris to Charlotte, with Bobcats forward Boris Diaw moving to Utah. The four teams, said one source close to the talks, are "seriously engaged" after extensive talks Thursday. Keyword in this article is which has yet to be finalized. So it is close to being a done deal. EDIT: I forget this part of the article If Melo give's the nod this could be a done deal EDIT:2 here is the update from Yahoo! Check my Stats
Damn I don't think Melo is worth giving up Harris AND Favors.
EastCoastNiner
Damn I don't think Melo is worth giving up Harris AND Favors. And, if CP3 ends up in New Jersey?
Universe
I don't see it happening due to Outlaw being promised a starting spot and Harris relationship with Avery. Would be neat though since we are getting dominated with or without Anthony.
Check my Stats
And, if CP3 ends up in New Jersey? How does that happen? If they get him then of course it is worth it, but how do they get him? He isn't an FA for 2 seasons. Multi-Billionaire
I hope it does happen... I think a big factor here is how Melo likes the owner and the coach. Factors are more likely than not he's gonna agree to sign extension with Nets eventually... they're moving to Brooklyn, the owner is loaded and lets his employees shine, the coach has so far been a proven winner. Melo will make the Nets pretty good. I think Lopez (unlike Nene) has the desire to keep improving and can be a 20 and 10 one day, and if he becomes that, I think CP3 will be convinced to join them. Big thing for Nets is they get to keep Terrence Williams and glue guys like Travis Outlaw and Jordan Farmar... they can be pretty good. With automatic 28ppg player, they will be at least a playoffs team. But... In three years this will be called the Derrick Favors trade. :glasses:
Poe
I don't like this trade for Denver. It's never a good option to trade your best player, but since they have no other choice, I suppose they are going to have to go with it. Hopefully for them, Derrick Favors turns out to be the real deal. If this trade goes down, the Nuggets won't be a bad team, but I can't see them being a playoff team out West. I can see a starting line up of: Billups - Smith - Kirilenko - Harrington - Nene. Smith and Harrington would start because this team needs scorers. They are going to have to hope that Smith finally puts his head on straight this year. As for the Nets, this is a great deal. It gives them a proven franchise player to pair with Lopez. They may not have the pieces to make the playoffs yet (as far as I can tell), but it definitely gives them something to build on. Once they acquire a third star, they may become a real threat in the East.
The Next Knick
Wow, Harris and Favors? I really don't know what Melo can do in NJ with no true core around him.
magicbalala245
Anthony still has his heart set on the New York Knicks, but a case is being made to him the Nets are a compromise he’ll have to accept to get his $65 million extension and get into the metropolitan N.Y. market. League sources said the Knicks haven’t given up trying to land Anthony, but their inability to provide first-round draft picks in their offer will make it difficult to get a deal done. The Regime
A source close the the blockbuster trade talks centered around Carmelo Anthony told ESPN that the trade will have to be completed by Monday or not at all. "It either happens by Monday or the deal falls apart," the source said. Another source said that Anthony is warming to the idea of making a long-term commitment to the Nets, because of the team's planned move to Brooklyn in two years, but he is hoping that the Knicks or Bulls can swoop in and make a deal for him over the weekend. Marc Stein reports that Anthony wants to play with Amar'e Stoudemire as a Knick. That is unlikely, however, given that the Knicks could only offer 2014 and 2016 first-round picks without involving a third team. The Bulls are steadfast in their refusal to part with Joakim Noah. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/69256/20100924/source_melo_trade_happens_by_monday_or_not_at_all/
Make It Naaaashty
Good, tired of hearing all the rumors. Hopefully he gets traded to some random team.
fish7718
No surprise here, obviously Chicago and NY are Melo's number 1 choices.
AboveLegit
So basically, a team has to step up to the plate or else Melo is headed to Jersey. He should start packing his bags because I honestly don't think another team will make a serious run at him in the next 3 days.
magicbalala245
Why the [expletive] is New Jersey doing this? Melo will not have his heart set there. He wants Chicago or New York. If I was Melo I will say no. Wait till February cause then Denver will be desperate to trade him cause every team will know that Denver will then just want anything instead of letting Melo walk. Even if he does get traded to the Nets in February maybe he will be there with Harris then if he waits instead of going right now.
magicbalala245
Denver and Utah holding up the deal at this point. Other teams on board. Denver wants better deal. Don't understand their Noah fascination What appeared to be a done deal Nuggets & Utah want more.
Newman
The Nuggets aren't getting a better deal than Favors, AK47 and 2 first round picks. Period.

AboveLegit
Lol, this new GM is already in over his head. This is probably just an attempt to seek more opportunities if anything. Eventually this deal will go down. I like the aggressiveness this new GM is showing, he wants to get as much value for Melo as possible, can't say I blame him. Update: Chris_Broussard: Person close to Melo-trade talks just told me there's no way this trade happens tonight
Dash
Broussard on some more things that might cause this deal to fall apart. I'm told Denver's dragging its feet, not sure it wants to go ahead and make the deal. Waiting game from this point on. In terms of nearness to getting done, I'm told by sources Melo to NJ in 4-way is 6.5 on a scale of 1-10. NJ would like to get a PG in deal
Dzy
not surprised Nets want another PG. Having Jordan Farmar as your starter isn't the best option .

Newman
If I am not mistaken, the PG the Nets want in the deal is DJ Augustin.
