What is Noah Worth?

I heard some [expletive] that he was offended by the 5/57 or something like that the Bulls offered him.... am I the only one who thinks that is an extremely fair/generous offer? How much would you offer Noah?

Amir Johnson got 5 year 34 mill Rudy Gay 5 years 80, I'd say Noah is somewhere in between them 5/57 sounds about right. The guy is a really reliable player.

EDIT: BTW Rondo's agent is a dumbass, Rondo got extremely underpaid, sucks for him

If he was a better offensive player, I'm sure he'd be worth more than what Chicago offered. Sounds about right, though.

Then again, if he was a better offensive player, he'd be an incredible center.

Hard not to compare him to other big man contracts. Drew is getting double-digit millions, and he's in and out of the lineup all the time. I believe he's going to be making $14-15 million in a season or two.

So people are still under the assumption that Amir Johnson is being paid $34M over the next 5 years?

First off, his contract is 5 years, $30M, not $34M.

Secondly, the final year of his deal isn't even fully guaranteed as only $5M of the $7M of is guaranteed. The other $2M are tied into performance bonuses that are considered "nearly impossible" for him to reach.

So in reality, his contract is more like 5 years, $28M. Overpaid a bit, sure, but not nearly as bad as so many people like to make it out to be.

As for Noah, I think a contract along the lines of what Emeka Okafor got after his rookie deal would be fair (maybe even a bit overpaid, but he would get that on the market). As much as I like his game and the energy that he brings to the table, he isn't worth a $14-15M deal unless he is able to improve his offensive game. Paying that much for a guy who can only give you 10-12 points a night is a pretty hard pill to swallow. The Bulls made the mistake of overpaying Ben Wallace and he was a better version of Noah at the time (although he lost all interest in basketball after he left Detroit it seems).

I think by the time he gets his extension he will be a bit overpaid, but the Bulls are going to have to overpay him because he knows that if he hits the open market he could command a pretty lucrative deal.

I'd say in the range of 10-12 million. The Nuggets want him in a deal for Melo, so that must mean his value is extremely high. The going rate for bigs is really high right now, just take a look at what David Lee just recently got. So while it's an expensive offer, it's a fine one.
