Didn't know Boomer was in the list, and I don't remember the Brees performance.

Can anyone do it this season? There have been a few 400's already, and Schaub was three yards away. :o

Matt Schaub - 497 yards, WK2

Kyle Orton - 476 yards, WK3

Philip Rivers - 455 yards, WK3

Peyton Manning - 433 yards, WK1

Donovan McNabb - 426 yards, WK2

Brady has the most weapons to do it with, a bad enough defense to press the need to get in a shootout, and a nonexistent running game... Wouldn't blow my mind to see him do it.

Very valid point, I can also actually see that happening.

  Really Orton is an option and Romo is in 'other'

No one will do it, this isn't Madden

haha i did not even notice that, good work B.

I actually think Romo has one of the best shots at doing it. He has all the weapons to do so.

But one of the biggest question marks is whether or not that O-line can keep him out of pressure throughout the game.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd go with Drew Brees or Peyton Manning, they have all the tools to accomplish this feat. But really, there's not much logic behind these predictions.. there's about a handful of QB's capable of doing this. Rodgers, Brady, Romo, McNabb, and Shaub. Hell I can even see a guy like Flacco in this discussion because of the receiving corps around him and his rocket arm.

The real question is: does the QB HAVE TO throw for 500 yards. It is Rare that QB's throw for 400 or more yards in blow out wins. It has to be a shootout or the team has to be losing for a while for a QB to have to go on that sort of rampage. Therefore the QB probably needs a horrible defense. Considering the Pats gave up 30 to the Bills I'd say Brady has best shot and Manning as well the Colts defense looks awful.

Didn't stick Romo or Cutler in there because they either haven't racked up the 400+ yards this season, they didn't hit 500+ yards before (like Big Ben and Brees), or they aren't on the same level as Brady or Rodgers. I eventually ran out of poll choices, lol.

I was looking through some old threads and remembered this one. It's funny how I was talking about the Bills offense last year, and then they tee off on the Patriots again.

I'm not sure when the next time we'll see another 500 yard game, but it wouldn't shock me to see it this season. I still think that Romo and Brees have the next best chances after Brady. Romo has so many offensive weapons that it's just stupid.
