Multi-Billionaire
Many NBA players struggle with the concepts of international game. That's why prior to this year's WC and last year's Redeem Team, team USA had been finishing anything but 1st or gold. In international concept, the Lakers could be reduced from "champs" to only "good but beatable". No one man show in Bryant can help. In addition, those bail out, NBA superstar calls would not apply to Kobe... MUCH MORE physical defense, harder buckets, hand check, and inability to figure out how to go to free throw line when there's no superstar call for Kobe or Gasol would be Lakers' thorns. The triangle wouldn't create much needed space when the three point line is shorter. Actually Lakers winning 1 game under international rules is pretty generous. But using NBA rules, Lakers should prevail. Edited October 8, 2010 by Multi-Billionaire
Owner Real Deal Posted October 8, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted October 8, 2010 Many NBA players struggle with the concepts of international game. That's why prior to this year's WC and last year's Redeem Team, team USA had been finishing anything but 1st or gold. In international concept, the Lakers could be reduced from "champs" to only "good but beatable".Wrong. Those teams struggled because they didn't play like a team. It took a well-rounded team to win those medals. Wade and Bron were more mature, Kobe and Kidd led the way (instead of Iverson), and they were much less selfish. Everyone knows that. There are plenty of NBA/NCAA players that go overseas and dominate. I can give you tons of examples, but I think you know that as well. No one man show in Bryant can help.Haha, right, because the Lakers are a one-man show. It's Kobe, not Durant or LeBron. Bryant doesn't get to the line as much as he used to. The Lakers have too much of an inside game to have to worry about anything to begin with. Barcelona would not be able to defend Gasol and Drew both, and still keep an eye on a healthy Kobe. How is this even up for debate? The shorter three doesn't change the triangle offense, at all. The offense isn't dictated by the spots on the floor as much as it is the spacing and the actual triangle formed, while the spacing also has nothing to do with the three point line. Players will space out regardless of where the three is, and because they are so used to the 23-24 footer, it wouldn't matter where they shot the three to begin with. Actually Lakers winning 1 game under international rules is pretty generous.Haha. But using NBA rules, Lakers should prevail.Should? Haha. Weird.
