Lkr
In an appearance on Wednesday night's edition of "Primetime" on CNN, LeBron James replied that he thought race was a factor in the backlash to his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers in free agency for the Miami Heat. "I think so, at times," he told CNN correspondent Soledad O'Brien. "It's always, you know, a race factor." A recent release of Q Scores, a polling system that measures popularity, appeared to support the notion. Among non-blacks, James' negative Q rating went from 24 percent to 44 after his free-agency announcement. However, among blacks, his negative Q Score slipped just from 14 percent to 15 percent. Also interviewed was James advisor Maverick Carter, the CEO of James' marketing wing, who agreed about the impact of the race factor. "It definitely played a role in some of the stuff coming out of the media, things that were written for sure," Carter said.http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/LeBron-James-says-race-was-a-factor-in-backlash-?urn=nba-273678This guy STILL doesn't get it
Check my Stats
This reminds me of when Shaq said it was racist that Nash won MVP.

fish7718
this is just sad.Agreed, not even Flash can defend this! LMAO! Terrible, I [expletive]ing hate this over played race card. The worst part is that it over shadows real racism while we have to put up with more of LeBron and all of his drama. Absolutely pathetic. Clutch
"i think so at times" meaning he feels there is always something involved im with u guys that its the dumbest [expletive] ever lol but it was just interesting he said that because i took a course on sociology of sports, where we learned about "floating racial signifier" i learned it with the example of michael jordan and tiger woods --- all good things they did were associated with "white" and when they fell off "it was the black in them" very interesting course although im tryin to fit it in this case, and i cant i dont think there was much of it, if anything he might be the answer to end racism once and for all because all races hate his guts now LOL

AboveLegit
Pathetic.. I can't stand him. The majority of this league is black, if it was a white guy of LBJ's caliber, there would have been the same media attention. I'm also surprised on what Jalen Rose had to say. Poe
He was asked by the reporter if race was a factor, and LeBron replied by saying, "I think so at times. There's always a race factor". LeBron didn't come out and try to blame it all on race, but if you want to twist it that way to attempt to put LeBron in a bad light as usual (like when LeBron was "owning" little kids at his camp when they were having the time of their lives, or being a jerk to a towel boy when he didn't even notice him), well I suppose that's your.... 'decision'.

Poe
Typical post by you Race played NO factor in it. Is Charles Barkley hating on him because LBJ is black? Of course race played little to no factor in this, but that's beside the point I made in my post. Typical ignorance from you. Typical ignorance from you.Ignorance? no. Sorry I can understand what LeBron is saying and not have my homerism get in the way. If Kobe said something like this, I'd be mocking him. Sorry you think LeBron is at a god level.

Abro
Im kind of on the fence this actually.. In a way its just an easy thing to say just to go along with something that has been discussed many times by espn, Jesse Jackson, etc. But on the other hand. I think it could also be a race thing.. I think tht like espn said once.. That alot of this "race" factor comes into play after Dan Gilberts letter.. Ive heard that alot of black people feel tht they need to defend LeBron because of everything between Dan's comments and also Jesse's comments. With this kinda thing every little thing comes into play.

I never once heard Poe say anything about "if LeBron was white this would happen." i think everyone just needs to take a few deep breaths.. I never once heard Poe say anything about "if LeBron was white this would happen." i think everyone just needs to take a few deep breaths.. HahaI'm sorry but that's exactly what you are saying when you say race was a factor, otherwise there is no reason to say anything. Even if it played the tiniest role there's no reason for him to even say it.
SRV
I think the race card is overplayed....so -1 for Lebron. Hes still a beast though
