JYD
Tha Carter 4 is definitely not dropping this year. And I don't believe laser's will either.
Flash
Lupe is taking himself way too seriously. This whole "I'm not gonna sell out" mentality is so dumb. His fans are going crazy for music but he's not releasing anything hardly and people are starting to notice. No chance Lasers drops this year. - Kanye's album is called Devil In a New Dress IIRC. - Big Sean's album drops later this month - Cudi's album should be dropping this year as well. Sorry, got confused on my GOOD Music stuff lol. The album is called Dark Twisted Fantasy(tentatively) and Sean's album drops in November. My bad. And I guarantee Big Sean does not drop an album in November. He just dropped a mixtape in September. The same mixtape that was supposed to come out in March... kadillak
Lupe is taking himself way too seriously. This whole "I'm not gonna sell out" mentality is so dumb. It's Lupe's fault? Please. Atlantic is to blame. Lupe wants it released, it's been done for a year now, but Atlantic won't release it because it isn't what they want it to be like. That's a joke. That's not their job to decide. And I'm pretty sure people would rather not get any Lupe than have him sell out and release music. That defeats the purpose as to why they are fans of him. He'll stay true to himself and just drop mixtapes before he sells out and drops the album Atlantic wants, as he should. And, as of right now, I'd have to say LASERS probably will drop by the year's end. If not, then we'll at least have a date. A few people that appear to be 'in the know' are saying that the petition and Fiasco Friday event are working wonders. Kanye doesn't have a name or release date for his album. There is no 'tentative' album title. He just said a few days on Twitter that he doesn't know what his album should be called or when he will release it. It'll probably drop very soon though because he had four people with him mixing and mastering a few days ago after two of his songs leaked. He's trying to get it all done ASAP so the leaks don't hurt sales and anticipation.
Flash
I give up. F Wikipedia lol. As for Lupe, this came out back in June and I can't say I don't believe what Prolyfic is saying. "Ain't no release date on #WeWantLazers cuz ain't NO [expletive]ING HITS on it! cuz @LupeFiasco REFUSES to makes hits.. not that he cant.. he wont!" Prolyfic wrote via Twitter. For those dubbing the producer a "hater," he addressed Lupe directly on the social networking site to squash rumors before they started. "@LupeFiasco & I dont "hate" the petition..I think it's dope that u have such devoted fans..however if u did more they wouldnt have 2 do that," he wrote. Prolyfic claims that even other notable production powerhouses like Jim Jonsin refuse to work with the rapper due to his lackadaisical work ethic. "Jim [Jonsin] didn't want to waste a HIT on @LupeFiasco bcuz he INTENTIONALLY associates himself wit Losin..I mean Lazing..Loser Lazer #Shrugs," he wrote. While the comments may seem harsh, the creator of Fiasco's 'Just Might Be OK' is only interested in seeing the rapper live up to his fullest potential. "Why do I care so much? Bcuz I know exactly what went into building @LupeFiasco to be where he is today.. & beyond all that.. I'm still a fan... @LupeFiasco I'm just speaking from a fan that wants to see you win... regardless of how we PERSONALLY feel about one another... @LupeFiasco and when I say win I mean do what we all know you can do.. which is RUN THIS [expletive].. which you very well can do." kadillak
I can believe that. Lupe is not the type of person to want to make 'hit songs' like Atlantic is demanding out of him. I said that in my previous post. Making hit records usually involves you selling out on your style and giving the mainstream a dance song, something about money/sex/women/cars/swagga, a catchy kids-bop chorus, etc. That's not Lupe Fiasco. That's not what has made him successful and Lupe fans don't want that kind of music out of LASERS. He's made hit songs in the past (Superstar) without selling out and that song had a purpose within his entire album. Atlantic wants him to cut the complicated metaphors so the average listener can understand what he's talking about, make the song a mainstream topic, and throw someone like Drake on the hook so it'll be popular and he'll have a hit song so produce album sales. Lupe doesn't care about that. He explains all of this in "Dumb It Down". Just look at what Atlantic did to B.o.B. Lupe wants no part of it. He wants his way and he wants to please his fans with the same type of material that made them love him. Again, I firmly believe LASERS will be out sooner than people think, and he won't have to sell out in order to do it. Ultimately the people/fans will get what they want and that petition and the Fiasco Friday event later this month will force Atlantic's hand and give Lupe's people leverage. And Kanye's album is now dropping November 22nd.
JYD
Don't forget Lloyd Banks too. A lot of dude's sleeping on him, but he's got some real good features on HFM2 coming Nov 22nd.
