The Regime
CSNNE.com - The Patriots are exploring the possibility of trading for Vincent Jackson, according to a source. Talks remain preliminary, but Logan Mankins could be the player dealt to San Diego. Mankins and Jackson are both restricted free agents in their fifth season and are in contract disputes with their current teams. New England dealt Randy Moss to the Vikings on Wednesday. http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/18742/20101007/patriots_exploring_mankins_for_vincent_jackson_trade/
AboveLegit
I don't see this happening. Both teams are reluctant to shell out cash, so why would they trade for each others cash demanding players?
EastCoastNiner
I would like this, but Adam Schefter said there is "no chance" this happens, but reporters are wrong quite often. Also, how does it make any sense if the Chargers don't want to pay McNeil, yet they would pay Mankins to play the same position? But yeah as far as long term contract goes I see what you mean. Edited October 8, 2010 by Confidence

Unless they want Mankins opposite of him, I just don't understand it. I thought of this exact trade at the beginning of the season, but it just doesn't make too much sense just thinking of the basics of the trade.
