SRV
Man, my entire family liked DBZ..I got them addicted to it lol...my dad still watches it, and I have caught him watching some of the VHS movies I bought back in the day. I completely lost track of it though, toonami got really deep into the show, and one day they restarted it all the way back at the Freeza saga (which they did like 3 times and I still watched it)...and then I just got pissed. moeroadkill
i lost interest right before GT. i like the freeza saga the best, and then probably the very start of the episodes with raditz
Multi-Billionaire
Had the complete collection of the comic book, I think it's better in the book than in the movie/ video. I was a huge fan, crazy nuts about this... but DBZ is not the best anime out of Japan (that distinction belongs to Saint Seiya/ Knights of the Zodiac). Owner Real Deal Posted October 11, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted October 11, 2010 I hate these discussions...makes me feel OLD as dirt. I've never seen an episode of the show. I don't remember how old I was when it was popular, but I was probably just starting high school. HOWEVER, I did draw a picture of the main guy for my brother, who loved the show...drew it when I was 14 or 15. http://i53.tinypic.com/70uvex.jpg

Dash
used to love it, but i dont think i would have the patience to watch it anymore The remake 'Kai' is actually much faster paced. The Raditz fight was done in 3 episodes and the saiyan saga last roughly 5 or so episodes. I think its the 35th episode now and Goku is about to fight Freiza. reno
Used to be my favorite show, like I would run home just to watch it. I was addicted. When goku first went super sayen, it was so epic. Freza saga was the best. And the spirit bomb. After the boo saga is when i started to lose my patients with the whole, 5 episodes=1 min of actual play time.

Multi-Billionaire
Dragon Ball is actually not "just for kids"... it's mature enough to contain sexual explicit graphics (Bulma lol). I don't know if they censor it in US, but the Jap books show Bulma topless... with the old guy bleeding from the nose lol The video can be lame I think it could be a reason why people get turned off. Grab the graphic novels/ books if you see them in your bookstores. They're keepers. Love the entire thing from Red Ribbons to Raditz to Vegeta to Freeza to Cell until... Majin Buu where I find things to get a little bit repetitive. Gave my entire book collection (in Indonesian) to my neighbor, might buy them again now I'm in Australia (in English). Poe
Well, speaking of variations of dragon ball, there is a hilarious parody on youtube called Dragon Ball Z Abridged. The voice actors do a great job too and some sound almost exactly like the original characters. Check out their channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/teamfourstar They have 18 episodes now. I've tried to watch some of the youtube Abridged series and they were all just too awful. The only one that was ever funny to me was the original abridged series, which was Yugioh. Everyone else seems to be just copying the guy that did that.

The only one that was ever funny to me was the original abridged series, which was Yugioh. Everyone else seems to be just copying the guy that did that. I found it to be very well done. The voice acting, the jokes, the flow, the way it fits together, and the way they portray the characters in a different light is all great. The only problem is that it takes them a month or two to make each episode, probably because the people involved are located around the world. Also, I've checked out other parodies to other animes, but DBZA is actually the only good one I've seen, and far and away better than the rest (IMO).
