The Regime
Andris Biedrins and Don Nelson had a tumultuous relationship, which has made the transition to playing for Keith Smart relatively easy. "I always had a great relationship with Coach Smart," Biedrins told FanHouse this week, opting to answer a question regarding the past by instead looking to the suddenly-brighter future. "I'm really glad that he's now in the head coach position. He has seen things from the last couple of years that we were missing, and now we're changing a couple things. "Last season overall was very frustrating for me. I had the injuries and the surgery and all that stuff. I think (the coaching change) came at the right time, so I'm really glad." http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/69555/20101014/biedrins_benefits_from_coaching_change/
Legacy
No doubt. Nellie was tough on Andris. Nelson was the reason that Biedrins played bad last year, along wit a mix of injuries. Nelson over used him and played him when he shouldn't have been playing with injuries and called him out several times. His confidence was extremely low. Smart is more of a players coach, so I expect bigger things from Biedrins this season.
