Might Ervin Magic purchase the Pistons?

Magic Johnson sold his share of the Los Angeles Lakers to season-ticket holder Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, the NBA reports. The NBA did not disclose the terms of the sale. Johnson bought a share of the team in 1994 and was believed to possess about a ten percent stake in his former team. He played for the Lakers from 1979 to 1991, and parts of 1996. The sale has led to some speculation (at least from one prominent NBA observer) that Magic wants to put together a bid to own a majority stake in some NBA franchise.

I read about him possibly purchasing the Pistons. does anyone think this might happen now?

The Pistons were sold to a new ownership group and it just wouldn't make sense for Ervin to sell minority stake in the Lakers, only to buy minority stake in the Pistons. Judging by his comments that are being made into a front page headline...it seems as though Magic is trying to put together an ownership team for a Los Angeles NFL franchise.
