Owner Real Deal Posted October 19, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted October 19, 2010 Just a poll to ask what our community thinks about dropping the word censor. But first, realize that this does NOT mean you will be allowed to personally attack anyone, and racist comments will still get you banned (I may continue to censor a couple of racial slurs, actually). Vote and explain, please.
Nitro
I say yes. On a sports forum I don't think an abundance of cursing will be a major issue, and I think for the most part the members here are *gasp* mature enough to handle it. I am sure there will be a few members who will go overboard with it if the censor is lifted, but they can be dealt with individually. deestillballin
No. I believe it will be some people that will abuse it. We do have a handful of mature users that wouldn't but there are those few bad apples who are waiting for something like this to happen
Warren2ThaG
Undecided, it should be decided by a higher power.
NomarFachix
I voted yes, I think a few expletives help make a point that you'd like to emphasize. I agree that they shouldn't be used as attacks on other members, and it would have to be policed fairly diligently. But I generally enjoy a good expletive here and there
Check my Stats
Just keep the n-word banned.
BasX
Yes, only because I've seen some links not work because of the censor. Yes I know there are multiple ways around it but that's a reason I side towards yes.
Universe
I vote yes because saying "[expletive] You" censored is still the same as uncensored. Just gotta keep the mods on it.
Lkr
I agree with Universe. If we say expletive, we know what we mean, it really makes no difference to see the word
SRV
Yes, I have an expletive in a lot of my posts, it just helps get the point across. No one really uses them for insults, aside from a few arguments here and there.
Poe
The less censorship the better.
Check my Stats
whenever you see me and that billionaire kid arguing, I suggest you put it back on though.
fish7718
I say no because if you saw what I was really saying sometimes I would probably be banned
AboveLegit
Yeah, we have a mature community, I don't see cursing being a huge issue. And I agree, just keep the N word censored.
Flash
Drop the censor but keep the N-word censored like others said. I think most people on here are mature enough to choose wisely when and when not to curse.
Guru
I say no because if you saw what I was really saying sometimes I would probably be banned I vote yes, but I agree with your second part lmao.
SRV
I dunno, I always had the feeling that Real can see past the censorship if he wanted lol...I don't fear getting banned for cursing. Make It Naaaashty
Like how everyone has said already, I think everyone is mature enough to handle this change.
La Bomba
Drop it. I'm pretty sure cursing will stay about the same with or without the censor.
Clutch
i dont think it matters either way, i mean in my head i read it the same lol
JYD
Yes. We are all big boys here, and there is much more revealing things on the internet then if someone says sh1t or fukc.
Big Shot Rob
I'm new to the site but I'll but my vote of "yes" into the bucket. After reading through a few discssions, I don't think less censorship will be a problem for thsi community.
fish7718
See I prefer the word censor because I don't have to censor what I'm saying. I can lay into someone with like 20 [expletive]s and it will slide, usually. However, with a word censor, I have to censor myself and try to keep the cursing to a minimum, so I dunno
Sun Tzu
Yes. This forum is far more mature than others and I honestly don't see it being abused at all, maybe by some of the newer members but I doubt most of the veterans or mature members would even use it that much. ChosenOne
I say no just cuz we don't need to change something that is not wrong. Edited October 23, 2010 by ChosenOne
