magicbalala245
Pat Riley won't be dictated to. Dictators rarely are. It is why the Allen Iverson chatter has faded. And it is why, in the wake of Carlos Boozer's recent round of lobbying, Riley released this statement: "We listen to all inquiries, but there is nothing going on." Understand, Riley rarely responds to speculation. He merely ignores it. Yet this time, he felt an 11-word response was warranted. Why? Because he won't be strong-armed. Boozer may well have overplayed his hand. With Boozer a free agent, Riley could have made a straightforward decision. Of course, that could have meant Boozer's love for Miami being requited with only a mid-level embrace. Somehow, we figure the South Florida affection wouldn't have been as enduring for Boozer in that case. No matter what Carlos Boozer wants, what matters more is what Pat Riley wants. And he doesn't want to be painted into a corner.
Flash
With Riles, this usually means something is going on. I think we're waiting on Lamar to decide what he wants to do before we make any trades.
