Knicks Begin Talks with Wilson Chandler About Extension

There have been preliminary discussions between Wilson Chandler and the Knicks about a potential contract extension.

Chandler might start the season coming off the Knicks' bench, but his agent said there has been "positive dialogue ... I wouldn't be surprised if he is extended." He should still get healthy minutes in a reserve role, and fantasy owners can comfortably target him in the later rounds.

I think he should be given an extension. He averaged 15.3 PPG last season, and I think he proved that he is worthy of the extension playing wise. Chandler can score, and also grab rebounds (5.4). Why not give him an extension? He's yet another young piece for the Knicks, and is continuing to grow as a basketball player.

Good, I'm a really big fan of Chandlers. He's got so much potential and is an amazing athlete, he could be an all-star someday. I really don't want to see him traded either, we need to keep the real athletic players we've got.

I read on RealGM they are looking at him as a sixth man now, D'antoni likes what Toney Douglas brings more.

I agree, Chandler was electric tonight. Toronto couldn't stop him tonight (not that they can stop very many players) and he's destined for a solid year.
