The Goods
The Mavericks want to re-sign Jason Kidd, but several teams are expected to make a play for the point guard. Free agency officially opens on Wednesday, and the Cavaliers, Trail Blazers, Celtics, Knicks, and possibly even the Lakers are expected to show interest. New York can only offer the mid-level exception, worth between $5 and $6 million, while Portland is the only one of the aforementioned clubs with sizable cap room. Dallas has maintained that re-signing Kidd is a priority. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60138/20090628/kidd_expected_to_have_several_suitors/
Cobb
I'm hoping the Mavericks will be able to re-sign him as they are my second favorite team. If they don't, I'll be interested in seeing where he ends up.
BlueDevil
I dont know if they should, but feel they will so it doesnt look like they gave away harris for no real reason.they might have to start rebuilding, they have 2 yrs tops to win a title. Mike Hawk
If they dont resign him that Devin Harris trade will be a failure.
ChosenOne
I would really like him to go to another team.

Jet
JJ Barea is a good young talent. I want to see his progress, because he might end up like a Devin Harris if he doesn't get his chance in Dallas. He might get traded or sign with a different team and become an all-star... well maybeee
Owner Real Deal Posted June 29, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted June 29, 2009 I had a feeling the Lakers would be among the teams. We can offer Farmar and possibly Morrison in a sign and trade. That would take care of the MLE money he's probably after.
OldChili
With a motivated Kidd on the Lakers... oh [expletive].
kadillak
I think Kidd will still be a Mav next season. I think a lot of teams are 'interested', but nothing more than that as everyone is waiting to spend their money next off-season minus three or four teams. Klashnekoff
If Kidd is really after a ring he will leave Dallas and go to Portland, L.A., Cleveland or the Celtics. L.A. actually really need to push for Kidd, they could be a wrap for the finals with him, why not secure your spot in the finals next season while other teams like SA and Orlando make big moves and secure theirs??????
