Phightins
He'll DH. He only used the DH thing to get more money out of AL teams. Genius negotiating. I think he was pretty sincere. A lot of guys legitimately hate DHing and can't do it. But for $56 million, I'd do whatever the hell they tell me to do. Phightins
Yeah, I see what you are saying, but he wanted to DH on Team USA. To avoid injury in meaningless games, most likely.

Yeah I am sure he will be pressured to DH whether Konerko is there or not. And once he gets used to it I'm sure he will be fine.

Just pointing out that a lot of guys who have been used to playing the field and keeping their minds constantly occupied legitimately have trouble adjusting to the DH role. I agree with you about adjusting, but I think he just used the DH excuse for more money. Just an opinion.
Phightins
Russell Martin non-tendered. Some other notable non-tendered guys, but I am about to pass out so I cannot think clearly enough to write a post about it. Martin the biggest though. fish7718
How did you find that video of me In all seriousness I will miss Maine, when he was healthy he was pretty dominant, unfortunately he was never healthy. I'll never forget his first half of 2007 when he went 10-4 with 2.71 ERA 1.14 WHIP .214 BAA 94 K's and got snubbed from the ASG

Teletopez
Red Sox, Angels, and a third team all offered Mo three-year deals, possibly for more money, but he chose to accept the Yankees' 2-year, $30M offer. You bashed the guy all season while I told you to chillax, now you're happy he re-signed? Teletopez
The Yankees were on the verge of dealing Cervelli to the Dodgers for Russell Martin, but concerns about his health halted the talks between the two teams. I suppose we're being extra wary following Nick Johnson's season. What are everyone's thoughts on Yu Darvish? Plans are for him to play in Japan one more year before taking offers from MLB clubs. Following Dice-K's up and down stretches in Boston, the price for Darvish may be cheaper.

I dunno, I never get the impression that those Japanese teams are cool with giving us their talent without us paying a steep price.
