ChosenOne
Obviously, the Cowboys are going to go out of their way to build up Jon Kitna now that he takes over for the injured Tony Romo. But no one was more effusive than receiver Roy Williams. "Tony is our starter, but Jon is just as good,'' said Williams, who enjoyed the best season of his professional career when Kitna started in Detroit. "We are going to work this week in practice so we can get the timing down with the receivers. But I have complete faith in him. I have played with him for three years and I know how good he is.'' What can Cowboys fans expect from Kitna? "He will put the ball where it needs to be,'' Williams said. "Is he going to be perfect? Of course not. There isn't a quarterback in this league that is perfect. He is going to make mistakes but we have to help him.'' Kitna's final numbers don't look too bad - 16 of 33, 187 yards, two touchdowns and no picks - but they don't tell the full story of what happened to the Cowboys when they lost Romo to a fractured collarbone. On the first 21 plays with Kitna at quarterback, they gained 47 yards. It was 20-7 after Dez Bryant's punt return for a touchdown but New York had a 38-20 advantage with 5:25 left in the third quarter. "I thought Jon was rusty," Wade Phillips said. "It just took him awhile to get going and once he did it gave us a chance." CowboysBlog
SRV
Not true. Every time Kitna touched the ball, the blitz destroyed him. He looked confused, and he had no ability to avoid a tackle.
ImOnFire15
LOL. What a joke. Both players suck, excluding Tony Romo.
ballorama
kitna isnt bad.. hes a proven vet, prob one of the best backup QB's you could have. Roy and Kitna already have the chemistry (roys only probowl came from Kitna I believe?) Kitna should bring the cowboys a few wins.. but that D has to step up
Make It Naaaashty
Not true. Every time Kitna touched the ball, the blitz destroyed him. He looked confused, and he had no ability to avoid a tackle. No way you can judge him by their last game. Kitna hadn't even practiced with the first team for a long time and not to mention, that was his first start in about 3 years. It's difficult to suddenly come into a must win/division game when the crowd is booing you before you even step on the field. Evaluate Kitna after this week against a poor Jacksonville defense. fish7718
Obviously Roy is just trying to inspire his teammates while one of the Cowboys best players is out. Just like McNabb when he said they don't need TO. Only difference is Romo probably won't be doing sit ups in his driveway any time soon. Owner Real Deal Posted November 1, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted November 1, 2010 Pretty obvious that Kitna is trash. Time to retire.

bigdog17k
I don't think Kitna is done just yet, I mean they guy didn't see any action last year. He's never even had to play for Dallas yet, so I don't think you can fault him for being thrown into the mix and losing in his first real start again. I think next week you'll see an improvement.
