Cobb
ARLINGTON -- Major League Baseball will take a "pragmatic" look at whether it's feasible to expand the postseason playing field by two teams this offseason, Commissioner Bud Selig said prior to Game 4 of the World Series at Rangers Ballpark on Sunday night. "I've said we're going to look at it very seriously," Selig told a group of writers after the presentation of the Hank Aaron Award. "There are a lot of considerations, there's no question about it. The pragmatism is what's most difficult. The question is how do you do it and what form does it take? A lot of people have different opinions." Under Selig's direction, MLB introduced a Wild Card berth to each league, the three-division setup and three-tier playoff format for the 1995 season. That gave baseball eight playoff spots -- four in each league. I'm not the biggest fan of the idea.

Flash
Not a fan. The best 8 is enough for me. Makes the entire season that much more competitive.
fish7718
Dumb, once you get to the playoffs it's strictly who's hotter. There is enough parity w/o adding more teams.
Phightins
I like it how it is. Greatest part about MLB is that the regular season counts so much and making the playoffs is a huge accomplishment in itself. With that said, I will not be totally opposed to this, depending on how they handle it.
Lkr
shouldn't happen, they don't want the playoffs to become boring and drawn out like the NBA playoffs.
Phightins
shouldn't happen, they don't want the playoffs to become boring and drawn out like the NBA playoffs. I don't think it would really draw it out. In most of the scenarios I have heard, they would add one additional wild card per league, and the two wild cards would play a 1-game playoff. Lkr
The NBA playoffs are boring?According to many people, they are. I think 2 months is way too long personally. The NBA needs to go back to a best of 5 first round for sure
