headliner
Sources tell CBSSports.com's Ben Golliver that the Blazers will work out Earl Barron, Dwayne Jones, Sean Marks and Shavlik Randolph. Ken Berger of CBSSports.com also confirms these names. The Blazers could also work out other players as well. The Portland Tribune reports Eric Boateng also will get a look. CBSSports Fabricio Oberto unexpectedly announced his retirement and now they are looking to fill this whole left by Oberto. One player that a lot of team are looking at is Earl Barron. headliner
The Trail Blazers plan to sign free-agent big man Sean Marks, according to league sources. Marks will replace Fabricio Oberto, who retired due to heart issues on Thursday. Marks was was one of five players invited to a Friday workout at the team's practice facility, and he beat out Earl Barron, Eric Boateng, Dwayne Jones and former Blazer Shavlik Randolph. CBSSports Looks like Portland is going to sign Sean Marks
Newman
Seriously, what's wrong with Earl Barron? He averaged a double-double in his stint with the Knicks last season. Yes, I know it was a small sample size and yes, it was the Knicks who at that time had no one else but David Lee who is a scorer in the post, but he should be on an NBA team if dudes like Shawne Williams and Maurice Ager can get another chance. Dr. Feelgood
Personally I would like to see Rod Benson signed by Portland.
