Pooh25
Former NBA guard Cuttino Mobley is hoping to return to the league after sitting out the last two seasons, according to Yahoo Sports! He announced on Dec. 10, 2008, that he "couldn't continue to play professional basketball without putting my health and life in serious danger" after doctors told him he was at risk because of his heart condition. Mobley, 35, now says he's confident his heart is fine, and is willing to undergo a series of physicals for interested teams. "I just want to come in and kind of help out for 10, 15 minutes [per game] if I could," Mobley said. "And if they wanted to give me a test with three to four different doctors and have me go through some type of process, I'm all for it. I just want to let people know they shouldn't be afraid of me and what could happen to me. "A lot of people are saying, 'Why do you want to play? We are afraid for you.' No, you’re afraid for yourselves. You're not afraid for me. Believe me, I'm fine." Via Marc J. Spears/Yahoo! Sports Thoughts? Any takers? htown11
I don't know if anyone is willing to spend the time or money on Mobley since he hasn't played in a while but he was a solid player that could shoot and drive in his prime. That Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley back-court was fun to watch, it didn't translate into enough wins but at the same time it showed what Mobley was capable of doing and that's scoring points in a hurry. It's a shame that both players disappeared quietly, Mobley with his heart and Steve with his random injuries and recently being arrested at LAX. At least Francis tried a comeback, I would love to see Mobley do the same if he has kept in shape he could still be a role player off the bench for a team looking for a shooter. headliner
Cuttino Mobley is just looking to be a role player which is at the max that he can be. I’m not sure how many teams out there are willing to take on the player that has had heart problems but teams will put him through a physical first and work him out. He could latch on to a team but since he hasn’t played for so long it would be difficult for him to get to the condition he needs to be in. I don’t see him getting much playing time with whatever team chooses to sign him.
JYD
I've always liked Mobley, actually. He could maybe be a role player for a Miami, LA, Boston, a team that's good right now...he's not going to contribute much though.
The Lone Granger
As a Pacers fan, it would be interesting to add him in. Put him in the spot of Dahntay Jones and just have another shooter off the bench? I know it would never happen, but it's interesting to think about. Could the Rockets possibly look at signing him? They could use a knock-down shooter, and even though it would only be for 10-15 minutes off the bench, just having him back in Houston would cause some buzz around the team. It would be interesting to see happen, but I doubt it will. I want to hear htown11's thoughts on that subject.
NomarFachix
I worked with his cousin in Philly, I should hit him up to see if it's true
