Michael Beasley: Finally Looking Impressive

Recommended Posts

Was really impressed with his game last night for obvious reasons. It has been since KG was around when it seemed like a player couldn't miss in a game (Big Al had good scoring games, but that was more so his good feet, inside game, and awkward shooting angles) It was great just to see him launch whatever he wanted and see it go in, it was just laughable.

Now if only him and Kevin Love can play a good game together sometime... Wolves got their 2nd win 19 days faster than last season.

You started to see the talent that got him drafted at #2 overall back in the day. I think if he keeps up that aggressiveness, and want to get to the rim, he could be putting up 25+ point games every night. He's definitely got all the tools needed to be a big scorer in the NBA, he just has to use them. Maybe because he's the best player in Minnesota, he's finally starting to get the confidence to play his game.

Thoughts?

I saw some stuff on him during the summer on NBATV. Beasley made a commitment to getting better in the off season and he's been aggressive in his approach.

I was glad to see him drop 42 the other night.

I like when he got pissed on this particular play, gotta wake you're guys up like that.

People act like he was a scrub in Miami, he was/is kind of a bonehead but he has always been talented, nice to see he cares about the game though. It was clear he was never going to grow in Miami playing behind Wade. The expectations were just too high, they wanted to win immediately but a lot of the time they forgot this kid was a 19 year old rookie, 20 year old sophomore. It is hard to develop when you aren't allowed to play through your struggles, like was the case in Miami.

What surprises me the most is that the Wizards didn't pick him up in the offseason. We have much better assets than a Minnesota second round pick, we should have given him a chance. If he doesn't pan out, he's gone after the season.

Let's remember, he's on a expiring contract, so there is that motivation to play better in your last season of the contract in order to prove yourself to teams out there looking to spend cash in the offseason.
