The Goods Posted July 23, 2009 Report Share Posted July 23, 2009 The 76ers, continuing their search for a veteran point guard, are discussing former Indiana Pacers starter Jamaal Tinsley as a possibility. According to a source familiar with the Sixers' situation, they also are considering taking a fresh look at Golden State Warriors restricted free agent C.J. Watson. Sixers president/general manager Ed Stefanski was in Las Vegas last night, preparing to watch Andre Iguodala and Thaddeus Young in the U.S. National Team's minicamp that will culminate with an intrasquad game Saturday night. Stefanski declined to comment on the situations surrounding Tinsley and Watson. The Pacers waived Tinsley yesterday after not allowing him to play for the team last season, in part because of a Dec. 9, 2007, incident when shots were fired into Tinsley's car, wounding the Pacers' equipment manager. The Pacers reportedly reached a settlement with Tinsley and agent Raymond Brothers over the $14.7 million owed to the player over the next two seasons. The settlement allowed both sides to avoid an arbitration hearing that had been set for Monday. It remains unclear whether the Sixers will pursue Tinsley, but the source said Stefanski spoke yesterday with Michael Higgins, Watson's agent.
