(CNN) -- Almost two weeks after polls closed, Arizona voters have approved a medical marijuana law, state officials said Monday.

The close vote -- by a margin of 4,341 votes -- will be certified by the Arizona Secretary of State's Office on November 29, said spokesman Matthew Benson. A ballot count from Maricopa County over the weekend allowed state officials to provide the results, he said.

Arizona becomes the 15th state, along with the District of Columbia, to have passed a medical marijuana law since 1996, said a spokesman with the advocacy group Medical Marijuana Project. The Arizona law will allow patients with "debilitating medical conditions" to use cannabis if they have a recommendation from their physician.

15/50, thats a lot of states since it started 14 years ago.

# The allowable amount of marijuana for patients and caregivers is 2.5 ounces.

# IF a patient or caregiver is allowed to cultivate, the limit is 12 plants that must be grown in an “enclosed, locked facility”, defined as “closet, room, greenhouse, or other enclosed area”.

Qualifying conditions: cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s), Crohn’s, Alzheimer’s, cachexia or wasting syndrome, severe and chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures (like epilespy), and severe and persistent spasms (like multiple sclerosis).

There's the mistake. Really, there's no reason to have medical marijuana because 75% of the people using it are just wanting to smoke. Might as well legalize it.

It's not difficult to go into a doctor's office and get your prescription because you have severe and chronic back pain.

Liberals dont tend to look at people who abuse it when thinking of legalizing Medical Weed , but people who really need it.
