For the past couple of days I've been thinking about the most populated cities and their proximity to water. Don't mind me, I go into deep thought like that at times...

In this 2006 list of the most populated cities in America, of the top 10 cities 7 of them are within 75 miles of a major body of water. It got me to thinking about humans and their fanaticism to waterfront property. If it wasn't for the state of Texas, 10 of the top 10 most populated cities in America would probably have EZ access to the coast. I dunno, any thoughts?

This has been pretty well known for a while. Something like 75% of people in the country live within 75 miles of the coastline.
