Nitro
So, I was looking at Chris Paul's stats tonight, and his efficiency this season has been INCREDIBLE. Here are his stats so far this season (10 games)... 17.8 PPG/ 10.2 APG/ 4.8 RPG/ 2.2 TO/ 2.5 SPG/ 52.0% FG/ 48.0% 3PT/ 85.0% FT Also, he is currently the leader of the 9th best offense in the league in terms of Ortg, while being only 26th in the league in pace (that pace helping the Hornets to be a top 3 defensive team). The team is now 9-1 as well, with a good, but not elite supporting cast. As long as the Hornets can win 50+ games, the MVP award should be his. Owner Real Deal Posted November 18, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted November 18, 2010 Everyone playing 10+ minutes per game is shooting over 45% from the floor OTHER than Ariza and Bayless. You don't see much of that in the league. You have to give props to their defense, though. While CP3's defense is top-notch right now, Okafor and Ariza have been excellent for them, especially Emeka (which is refreshing, because this is the player we hoped to see when he was in Charlotte, with another 9-10 PPG, of course). If Nash could win his MVPs for what he did while averaging just 15-16 PPG scoring (and I believe he averaged under 20 for his other MVP award) while not playing a lick of defense, CP3 should be a strong candidate for what he's doing. Art
MVP for CP3 would be nice, but I'd rather have a strong contention in the playoffs this year.
Check my Stats
This team is exactly like Cleveland though. CP3 will get boned in the playoffs against the Lakers with David West as his 2nd best player. Paul will probably win MVP though if he keeps this up (which is definitely possible, or even likely) especially now that Kobe has his first MVP. The fact CP3 has never won it definitely works to his advantage. Also wtf at Ariza, 38%? You'd think he was still playing in Houston. This still doesn't touch the year CP3 should have won MVP though. 23 points, 11 assists, 6 boards, 3 steals, 50% from the floor, 55 wins with a mediocre cast to boot. Cleveland won 66 that season, and LeBron put out better numbers and was a better overall player. If you're talking the previous season (where they won 56 games, Paul didn't score as much or grab as many boards, shot under 50%), then you have an argument, but the Lakers won the West (more wins than NOH) and Kobe was a better overall player, and that shouldn't be debated.
