JWaLL
Man, throwing a perfect game must be one of the best feelings in the world. I'm not even a baseball fan but man, you could see what he was feeling at the end of the game just by looking in his eyes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1MvuodlDs0
bigdog17k
I remember Buehrle's no-hitter a few years back, I watched that game, it was great. But this was amazing! I missed it, but seeing the recap just makes me cry in happiness. That was... just... man... yeah. Good job Buehrle, and major props to Dewayne Wise for keeping it alive. Wise isn't even one of our everyday guys, this is huge for him.

trutrojan8
This is like saying that LeBron James's game winning 3 against Orlando was no more special than any other 3 point shot he has made. You are right, technically it is the same difficulty level as any other 3, but it is all in the situation...Touche.
EastCoastNiner
I don't get how you can say the catch was not great........ He was running full speed towards the wall in the bottom of the ninth inning while Mark Burhle was pitching a "Perfect Game". I remember a similar catch that Gary Matthews had about 2 years ago, and I think that may have been the "Play of the year".

Matthews took two steps to climb the wall, about 10 feet tall. Matthews' catch was the play of the decade thus far. xx.
Sportscenter top 10.... I was thinking trutrojan would definitely be right and wade for the catch by Wise to be 2 or 3 but nope we were wrong guys it was #

bigdog17k
I was also thinking about something, at the start of the season no White Sox fan liked Wise (including myself), he was like our third option off the bench, and he could barely hit. But with that catch yesterday he sealed himself into White Sox history forever. I'm pretty happy for him. I mean, I'm still thinking about it. fish7718
It was a good catch, yes, but it certainly wasn't unbelievable or anything super special. It saved the perfect game, yes, but out of context it'd only be #2 or #3 for the day's top 10 plays.I swear you are the biggest idiot on these forums. That catch was amazing perfect game or not. First of all the fence is pretty high so it makes it tough to rob homeruns in the first place. Then factor in how far he ran considering he was playing in. Then consider the fact he brought the homerun back. Then consider he hit the fence running full speed and still was able to grab the ball with his barehand after it got jarred loose. Thats #2 or #3 on play of the year if theres no perfect game on the line.
fly3rs18
i heard some guy at the phillies game today saying that buehrle bought everyone a rolex. i dont know if its true or if the guy was just saying that he should do that. but anyone know? it would seem kinda weird if he did even though it would make sense

Not sure what he did for this one, although he did say he would have something extra special for Dewayne Wise.

Teletopez
Buehrle's bid at a second straight perfect game is broken. Props to him for his 45 straight retired batters, though.

TODAY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sDHmtR31jY That's something you don't see every day in baseball. Oh, and recapping Wise's catch: Robs a home run, then OPENS HIS GLOVE, doesn't get jarred out, he literally opens his glove, to make the catch look harder than it was. Teletopez
I've noticed some tendencies with no-hitters/perfect games being broken up: 1) they're often broken by the leadoff batter in an inning. 2) they're broken with a HR a lot. 3) the pitcher often has a rough outing after allowing the first hit. Usually, and as we saw today, one of these is met.

Teletopez
Ryan Rowland Smith of my Mariners gun throw a perfect game or no hitter!---do u think i jinxed it yet>? ^_^Well it wouldn't have been a perfect game because Smith hit a batter. And now the no-hitter is gone. And whaddaya know, the no-hitter is broken to start the inning.
