magicbalala245
With reserve center Theo Ratliff out at least 4-6 weeks because of surgery on his left knee, the Lakers need help now. Coach Phil Jackson said before Sunday's game the Lakers are looking into signing a back-up center and "will have something settled this week." Two names that have surfaced recently as potential fill-ins are free-agent Erick Dampier and Jake Voskuhl, who did not play in the NBA last season. The problem with Dampier is that teams cannot offer free agents 10-day contracts until later in the season, and the Lakers only need a short-term fix. So who's going to be the new addition to LA. With ESPN already reporting Dampier is close to signing to Miami is this Jake Voskuhl going to be our new back up center till Ratliff and Bynum are back? Purple&Gold
As of a Lakers fan, I am always looking forward to new players on the team. I expect the Lakers to pick a big that is mid-age, strong, work well in the low-post, or that can seriously do on the defensive end. I would say the Lakers are gonna get a big that is underrated and work well at the offensive end.
Newman
Jake Voskuhl is not a bad 3rd/4th string C, but I haven't seen him in a while so it's hard to determine what he can do now. To be honest, I thought he retired.
