Jay Cutler could take on north Korea one on one, I'm sure da bears can take on the whole region with no problem. Martz would lead one of the most amazing offensive attack in da history of da world, it would be quick and inspiring. None of north Korea's planes/rockets would be able to lock down and hit day da amazing d Hester and Knox, they just toooo fast. urlacher and Briggs would form an indestructible wall that would protect south Korea and her allies. In bears we trust.

After North Korean strike, South Korean leader threatens 'retaliation'

Seoul, South Korea (CNN) -- Hours after North Korea's deadly artillery attacks Tuesday, South Korea's president said "enormous retaliation" is needed to stop Pyongyang's incitement, but international diplomats urgently appealed for restraint.

"The provocation this time can be regarded as an invasion of South Korean territory," President Lee Myung-bak said at the headquarters of the Joint Chiefs of Staff here, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency.

The incident -- in which two South Korean marines died -- is "the first direct artillery attack on South Korean territory since the Korean War ended in an armistice, not a formal peace treaty" in the 1950s, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported.

Scott Snyder, director of the Center for U.S.-Korea Policy, the Asia Foundation, called the act a "very serious provocation" and said it was "unprecedented in recent years [at least since the 1970s if not longer] in terms of artillery beyond the DMZ into civilian areas."

The United States has about 28,500 troops deployed in South Korea who are warily watching the situation. A U.S. defense official said there are "more than 50 U.S. Navy vessels in the area, including a carrier strike group led by the USS George Washington. However, there are no plans to send more ships or forces in response to the strike.

Along with the slain marines, 15 South Korean soldiers and three civilians were wounded when the North fired about 100 rounds of artillery at Yeonpyeong Island in the Yellow Sea, South Korea authorities said. The attack also set houses and forests on fire on the island.

South Korea's military responded with more than 80 rounds of artillery and deployed fighter jets to counter the fire, defense officials said.

Firing between the two sides lasted for about an hour in the Yellow Sea, a longstanding flash point between the two Koreas. In March, a South Korean warship, the Cheonan, was sunk in the area with the loss of 46 lives in a suspected North Korean torpedo attack.

Wow, if this escalates into a WW3, I guess TSA wouldn't be on CNN as much..

For real though, if I wouldn't have read this thread, I wouldn't have known. All I [expletive]ing hear about is TSA, like who gives a [expletive].. There's more important things than pat down.

I believe this is correct....

North Korea Allies:

China

Russia

South Korea Allies:

United States

Great Britain

Germany

Italy

Poland

Canada

Austrilia

Japan

EDIT: This has the makings for World War 3, if the situation drastically excels.

Lol of all the countries listed the only country who could even viably stand up to North Korea alone are the US and Great Brittain, bring Russia and China into to this and we got a problem.

The fighting wouldn't just centralize around the North and South Korea issues. If this turned into WWIII, it would be due to the production of nuclear weapons, which would involve Iran, and eventually direct its attention to a religious war.

So you're basically looking at a nuclear + religious World War. You would see involvement from other countries, not just allies of those two going back and forth right now. We're talking Israel, Iran, Syria, and many others.

A war of that magnitude would be devastating.

Using the views that many of you have displayed recently and in the past, South Korea should do absolutely nothing and take it up the [expletive].

Also, if you really think that Russia and China would take out U.S. satellites quickly, you are sadly mistaken. If the U.S. were to get involved, we could wipe North Korea off the map within seconds.

This would not be good whatsoever. Many lives would be lost, and one of our biggest trading partners would be lost. We would have to produce a lot more goods in the U.S. as well.

I just think that North Korea better hope that none of their missiles hit a U.S. Navy ship or would any U.S. troops.

Americans do think they can just beat all the powerhouses alone. lol

Luckily Europe would be on the U.S's side.

Luckily we have a huge range as jay cutler can throw some of the deepest balls with a velocity that has never been seen before. But a lot of people over rate chinas military, they still use ww2 stuff. I'd only be concerned of use of nuclear weapons, for europes sake, but beyond that yeah we would tear china/russia up.

From what I hear, no one wants commit to N Korea in this type of war. They're like that dumb friend who did something stupid to someone and you feel obliged to help, but you know he's just wrong. That's why China hasn't made an official statement on their position yet.

Yeah, and China would be one of the first countries to step in, but the problem is that North Korea had no reason to do what they did (they aren't giving a reason, at least).

Would China support anything they say? Probably not, but you never know.

I just think China wants to stay out of any mess that could involve the US. We have troops in South Korea, so doing something like this is really stupid to begin with.
