magicbalala245
LeBron James will return to Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena on Dec. 2 for the first time since the Akron-born James announced he was leaving the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. And the Cavaliers and the NBA are doing all they can to make sure the emotional and hostile scene does not turn ugly. The team and the league have been planning for this date since the summer, starting a continuing dialogue since the Heat's first game in Cleveland was scheduled in early August. The Cavaliers, the league and the Cleveland Police Department have had conference calls discussing the proper way to secure the game, which will be televised nationally on TNT. To ensure James' safety, there will be dozens of extra police officers on hand, both uniformed and undercover. Officers will be stationed inside and outside the arena, and many will be positioned by the Heat bench and at the tunnel where the Heat players will enter the court. "Honestly, I'm a little bit afraid," one member of the Cavs organization said. "Some people don't care. Their mentality is '‘I've got to get this off my chest.' There's so much negative energy around this game. People aren't excited about the game itself. They're just like, '‘I can't wait to do something.'" The Cavaliers have been one of the few NBA teams to have metal detectors at every arena entrance since Dan Gilbert bought the club more than five years ago, but they will go beyond that on Dec. 2. Here's a way to get a free shirt on this day only.

Owner Real Deal Posted November 25, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted November 25, 2010 I'm pretty excited to see what goes down. James isn't crazy like Ron Ron, so you won't see him go into the stands if something does happen...but fans can get out of hand quickly, and it takes one to spark a handful of them to throw things onto the court (much like the idiots did in that LA/Cleveland game last year, with the foam hands). There's a radio station out in Cleveland that is giving away Delonte West masks (or having you print them out in a PDF file, can't remember). That would be funny as hell. It looks like him, too. I wonder how long James will play, or if he'll even suit up.
Legacy
I can't wait to see the crowd reaction. Gonna be sick.
Legacy
I wonder how long James will play, or if he'll even suit up.I can actually see that happening, with James not playing. I read that they will limit his play on the court and keep his minutes low, but I wouldn't be surprised if LeBron doesn't even show up in the arena. La Bomba
It's going to be fine. More boos, maybe somebody will throw something, but I don't think we'll see anything shocking in regards to crowd reactions. I see it becoming something like Nick Saban coming back to Tiger Stadium. fish7718
They should really just get some awesome drawn out chants going like "sellout" "over rated" "quitter" "gloria west" the Cavs fans have the potential to make this like the game of the season, I hope they capitalize. Jenneral
How many fans do you think show up wearing LeBron apparel? EDIT: And not the anti-LeBron stuff. Stuff that actually supports him. Edited November 25, 2010 by Jenneral
Cleveland's Finest
So far, not many have even talked about this game. It's lost a lot of excitement since the season started. I've been hearing on the radio that everyone will be cheering loud but there really won't be anything that really gets to LeBron. LeBron will get everything he wants with all the media coverage, etc. But yeah, I'll be there and this is bigger to me than the finals series a few years ago.
