YugoRocketsFan
I dont think hitting a shot over the backboard requires any skill, just luck.
htown11
It happens from time to time, just good luck.
ChosenOne
Disagree it takes some skill, angling the ball over the backboard with the perfect touch for it to drop down right as it crosses the backboard takes some skill. htown11
I think any play takes skill I don't disagree with that, but on that particular play I think it's just pure luck getting the bounce.
Oliver P
^Yeah on that particular play it was pure luck indeed, that's for sure, but I agree with ChosenOne that a shot from being the backboard is certainly not necessarily luck, Bird's and Stojakovic's ones were all about skills, it had clearly nothing to with luck in both cases : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebx61XuFGX8 By the way the best shot from behind the backboard ever is certainly Chritie's, in that case it was all about luck for sure : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EJOzE5Kib4
Big Penny
am i the only one who didn't think of basketball when i saw the title?
xx.
That's all skill, trust me. I do the same thing every time I play in some pick up games too. Instead of taking that wide open three, I dribble to the sideline then I count to three jump backwards and do the same spin on the ball every time and aim for a piece of bubble gum stuck on top of the backboard. When I hit the gum it causes my spin to decrease by 50 percent, causing friction and the spin of the ball isn't there anymore making the ball drop straight down into the basket. There may or may not be a chance that me and Brewer have the same tactics when playing the game.
