I haven't seen anything official yet, but it might not qualify as an espn text. My only concern is I always thought Gruden was overrated and received too much credit in Tampa.

We've had conflicting reports all day. All I know is that if something weren't up he would have flat out said no by now so we have that going in our favor. I think this gets done but we'll see.

Always follow the money.

Colleges don't care about A's, they care about $'s.

True...unfortunately.

But you can have both success on and off the field. And that's what a great coach will bring.

Hocutt (our AD) met with Gruden today but we left with no agreement. There's interest but I think he's holding out for an NFL job. Now there's reports than Dan Mullen is in south Florida on a "recruiting trip".

Gruden is such an [expletive]......

I still say the coach doesn't matter. With the garbage we have at QB, we won't get anywhere. The defense is great, but the QB position just screws us repeatedly.

If we have this much money to throw at someone...I think we should really make an effort at Harbaugh although it'll be tough to get him to leave Stanford. We were prepared to make Gruden the second highest paid coach in the country though so I'd expect Harbaugh to get the same type of money.

Whipple's system didn't help either. RS had to go though.

I really do think he is Stanford, Michigan or to the NFL, although Michigan I would think is the front runner if they're prepared to make him the highest paid coach. He's a perfect Big 10 coach.

Hire Mike Leach, he is a genius.

He made a bunch of 2 and 3 star recruits at Texas Tech win a share of the Big XII South in 2008.

Also, he is/was a MAJOR reason Tech is going to their 19th consecutive bowl this year...

Give this guy 4 and 5 star recruits, look the [expletive] out NCAA.

Leach isn't a bad idea, probably comes at a fraction of the cost and the air raid would be absolutely insane with Miami talent and athleticism instead of 2 star leftovers from Texas.

Crabtree was his best recruit ever and he was a 4 star.

He was QB at Dallas Carter, and Leach made him a WR.

This is to all the U fans out there and the school...

Hire Mike Leach, win multiple national championships.

In fact, the Canes with Mike Leach will have more championships in the next ten years then the Heat will...

PLEASE QUOTE ME ON THIS

I really like Dan Mullen for this job. He knows the state of Florida, he'll surround himself with good recruiters and his offense is perfect to recruit for in Florida. I prefer Malzahn, but Mullen would be great here, especially with Teddy Bridgewater coming in.

Seeing what Mullen has done at a [expletive]hole like Miss. St. is impressive to say the least.

No love for Mike Leach?

He took a Texas Tech team with 2 and 3 star recruits within one win of a national championship birth...

Newest name being mentioned in the coaching search: Bo Pelini. Would be a grand slam hire but we'd need to hire a very, very good OC. I seem to be leaning towards Malzahn and then having the elite offense paired with a good DC like maybe Jim Leavitt.

Enjoy Al Golden. I hope he does well with a big program. The dude is fantastic, IMO. Completely turned around what was, 5 years ago, perhaps the worst division I program in the country.

I am going to miss having a decent college football team in this area :(.

Does/did Golden run a 3-4 at Temple? They're producing several 3-4 compatible players on defense, and a lot of them at that. Should be a good hire for Miami, hopefully he can recruit to the fullest and return the U back to a national power again. It's certainly a possibility.

I have absolutely no clue, hah. I just know that he is a hell of a recruiter.
