Owner Real Deal Posted November 28, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted November 28, 2010 Do you think the Kings should trade Cousins before they end up stuck with this guy? I mean, I know it's a small sample size, but he has been a distraction on and off the court. He's not producing well, at all, and he has already called out players (Bynum, Favors, maybe others) and has feuded with Westphal. 10/27 @ MIN - 14 PTS (5-10 FG), 8 REB, 5 AST, 5 PF, 2 TO, 27 MIN10/29 @ NJN - 12 PTS (3-8 FG), 4 REB, 0 AST, 6 PF, 0 TO, 21 MIN10/30 @ CLE - 14 PTS (5-10 FG), 10 REB, 2 AST, 3 PF, 5 TO, 28 MIN11/1 vs. TOR - 16 PTS (6-10 FG), 4 REB, 2 AST, 5 PF, 0 TO, 17 MIN11/3 vs. LAL - 11 PTS (3-13 FG), 6 REB, 0 AST, 5 PF, 1 TO, 20 MIN11/6 vs. MEM - 4 PTS (1-5 FG), 3 REB, 0 AST, 5 PF, 4 TO, 23 MIN11/10 vs. MIN - 7 PTS (2-3 FG), 6 REB, 0 AST, 1 PF, 4 TO, 14 MIN11/12 @ PHX - 9 PTS (4-8 FG), 7 REB, 0 AST, 6 PF, 0 TO, 21 MIN11/14 vs. DET - 6 PTS (3-8 FG), 8 REB, 1 AST, 4 PF, 6 TO, 25 MIN11/17 vs. NYK - 15 PTS (5-15 FG), 10 REB, 2 AST, 2 PF, 5 TO, 30 MIN11/19 vs. NJN - 8 PTS (2-8 FG), 10 REB, 1 AST, 2 PF, 1 TO, 29 MIN11/21 vs. NOH - 7 PTS (3-11 FG), 5 REB, 1 AST, 6 PF, 4 TO, 24 MIN11/22 @ UTA - 18 PTS (5-13 FG), 9 REB, 1 AST, 3 PF, 2 TO, 29 MIN11/25 @ LAC - 7 PTS (3-8 FG), 6 REB, 1 AST, 5 PF, 0 TO, 26 MIN11/27 vs. CHI - 6 PTS (3-8 FG), 4 REB, 0 AST, 5 PF, 2 TO, 16 MIN----------TOTAL - 10.3 PPG (53-138 FG, .384), 6.7 RPG, 1.1 APG, 4.2 PF, 2.4 TO, 23.3 MPG

magicbalala245
Yes you trade him but at this point who wants Demarcus Cousins. He is very immature and he just doesn't produce on the court and yet he calls out all these players and doesn't back up the talk.

Newman
I think he is still too talented for the Kings to trade him away, but he has got to grow mentally. With Dalembert off the books next year and the Kings looking to trade Thompson, he will get more chances and he just need to keep his mouth shut and foul less amongst other things. Dr. Feelgood
I think of him as being in the same boat as Michael Beasley a couple years ago. Very immature but he'll eventually come around. I wouldn't trade him just yet. He's still got a lot of potential and lots of room for improvement. He'll realize that he needs to mature and stop calling people out.

*Swish*
DeMarcus Cousins is one of the most immature player of the NBA but he's also one of the best rookie this year. Even though the Kings have decided to put him off the bench, he's still a good player with so much potential. I agree with Dr. Feelgood. He's like M.Beasley 2 years ago. But give him some time and he will become a better player and will be more mature. It's too early to trade him. When DeMarcus Cousins will get more mature, we will finally see a good Kings franchise. Tyreke Evans who's the best player of the Kings is an amazing player. He's fast and a good scorer. Cousins, Tyreke and Casspi (another sophomore) will be such a good trio in 1-3 years. Give them some time and you'll see a good franchise right there. If the Kings decided to trade Cousins, they will really regret it when they'll see him develop and become such a good player with more maturity Edited November 28, 2010 by *Swish*

He may be immature and a real headcase but you don't give up on the 5th pick in the draft so quickly. Cousins has A LOT of talent and potential and the duo of Cousins-Evans could become one of the best one-two punches in the NBA in a few years. Just give it some time, what the Kings should be doing right now is surrounding Cousins and Evans with mature veterans to provide some direction. Carl Landry is a great locker room presence but a Samuel Dalembert is the exact opposite, guys like him need to hit the road.
Flash
Not related to Cousins, but I've heard that Miami might be making a play for Jason Thompson. I guess as a replacement for Haslem.

The Lone Granger
I would definitely love to see the Pacers make a move for Cousins. Granted, he's very immature, but he's got so much talent, and we need some power forward help, so why not? As for replying to the actual thread title, yes they should at least listen to offers. I'm not saying trade him, but if you get an offer that involves young talent, and picks, then you have to consider it. He's already having issues with the head coach, and even when he starts to mature, I'm sure there will still be bad blood there. As much as I think he would be a great fit with the Kings, I just don't think he can get past the issues he's already having with the team. A change of scenery will be needed sooner or later, similar to like what Michael Beasley is having right now.
