Irving helped guide the Blue Devils to a 3-0 record away from Durham last week, including an 82-68 victory over No. 4 Kansas State for the championship of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic in Kansas City, Mo. In the three games last week, Irving averaged 14.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game. He was named the MVP of the CBE Classic after averaging 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game in the four contests. In the championship game against Kansas State, Irving had 17 points, five rebounds, six assist and two steals. In the semifinals against Marquette, he tallied 11 points, two rebounds, seven assists and two steals. To cap off the week, he scored 16 points and had three steals in a 27-point win against Oregon at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore.
