Guest STL10
Wouldn't Wade and LeBron have signed a multi-year minimum contract so they could sign more role players? They make so much $ off of endorsements, but at some point don't people just have too much money? I know Bosh was selfish and wanted the Max, but what about Wade and LeBron? The Heat could've signed a real center or PG if Wade and LeBron if they took SERIOUS paycuts... Just a thought.
Clutch
if they cared about only winning they would all be role players on either the lakers or celtics playin for cents lol but no one in the league would pass up money when its on the table..especially superstars in their primes Edited November 30, 2010 by Clutch

Clutch
ye makes sense, just one thing in terms of centers and pg, there wasn't THAT much available this off-season, but ye they would've been in a great position for next year where there will be more solid pieces available on the market

Hawks Fly High
Because unlike many of the all-time greats they are business men ahead of basketball players
The Truth
Wouldn't Wade and LeBron have signed a multi-year minimum contract so they could sign more role players?you actually expect the best players in the league to take $6M/year? what fantasy world are you in, exactly? They make so much $ off of endorsements, but at some point don't people just have too much money?you can never have too much money. if it's too much for you, you can give some to family, friends, relatives, and charities. I know Bosh was selfish and wanted the Max, but what about Wade and LeBron?you're calling Bosh selfish? you realize Dirk is making more than Bosh, right? in fact, Dirk is making more than any of Miami's big three. The Heat could've signed a real center or PG if Wade and LeBron if they took SERIOUS paycuts...they already took paycuts. they weren't going to screw themselves even more just to add an extra player or two. they obviously thought the three of them would be enough to win a title, and I think it still is, they're just not meshing well yet. once they get Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem back healthy, and the big three figure it out, they'll be extremely dangerous. The Truth
I expect them to take pay cuts if they want to win.they did take paycuts, LeBron and Bosh agreed to take $110M over six years. Wade took less. any of them could have made more than $120M had they taken the max, but they took less to play together. Why bring Dirk into this discussion?because he's apparently you're favorite player. you're calling a guy selfish when you're favorite player is making more per year. that's textbook hypocrisy. What gives you the idea the Heat will be alright...?they've lost eight games so far. half of those were by five points or less. two more of those losses came against Boston and Orlando. when this team gets healthy, they'll be dominating. The Truth
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/FitzJareld/rampage_30152.gifwhat in the world did I post that was just so ridiculous? This team will never get healthy. Haslem will miss the entire year. Dirk took a paycut if you do your research btw.they'll never get healthy? they're only missing two players. Miller should be back next month and Haslem shouldn't miss more than a few months. Dirk took a paycut, but not as much of one as Bosh. you can't think Bosh is selfish without thinking Dirk is selfish.
Owner Real Deal Posted November 30, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted November 30, 2010 Players don't do that because of career-ending injuries and future contract agreements with other teams. In four seasons, if the Heat and Bosh are ready for a divorce, Bosh will want his money. Let's assume Bosh is limited to a backup role by then (due to two microscopic knee surgeries). His contract is big for him AND for the teams wanting an expiring. That even gives Miami more to work with, as well, because the bigger the expiring, the bigger the deal. Sometimes, teams get screwed over, like Arenas and his hefty deal with Washington...but if an all-star or superstar were to take the minimum while they were in their prime, teams would be pretty reluctant to give them anything near that as they approached retirement, and a couple of rings later, a re-up of the contract for a player that has played 5-6 seasons into it means no max contract due to that player's age. Obviously, someone like me would sign for $400,000 to even play in the league, and that's a TON of money for me right now...but these guys can get max deals from any team that can afford it, and there's more than just one contender in the NBA every year.
