Owner Real Deal Posted December 5, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted December 5, 2010 According to @byTimReynolds, record +/- is +50 by Jared Jeffries with Wizards in '02. Darko's +41 was T23 all-time.When Jared Jeffries has a record for any statistic, it completely changes the way you are supposed to look at it. In that top ten are also Tyronn Lue, Bonzi Wells and Stacey Augmon...some NBA greats, for sure.

Multi-Billionaire
I've never really looked into +/- stats... they don't mean anything to me.

Look at the leaders during the 02-03 season and tell me that amount was possible... http://www.nba.com/f...ack_040114.html Edited December 5, 2010 by STL10

Guest STL10
Record for +/- in a single game. +753 is not possible for one game. They are total + minus the total - for the season.

Poe
+/- is only useful to evaluate what group of players fit together best on a team. Otherwise, the only thing +/- shows is that a particular player happens to be on a good or bad team, or has happened to have had playing time with a good or bad group of players. Glad to have ya back!
Nitro
As Poe said, it's useful when looking at how a player works in various lineups on a specific team. When trying to compare players on two different teams, it is pretty useless.
Rog
This kind of post seriously is annoying.... Also, I agree with Poe, its not useful unless in very limited and certain cases. For example, Derrick Rose was -5 in tonights game and anyone who watched it would agree that he absolutely dominated.
fish7718
lmao, Jared Jeffries or not, +50 for a game is pretty insane lol, especially because it's 4 on 5 on offense when hes out there.
N.1.A.K.
it helps when determining whether you want Matt Barnes out on the floor with the 4 others or Ron Artest... Fisher or Blake with the other 4. there has to be an advanced stat you would look at before the +/- though. its horrible at determining a players overall worth to a team though.
