Dash
Just spoke to @denverchannel's news desk. He said the deal would send Favors, Troy Murphy, and picks to the Nuggets for Melo.

Owner Real Deal Posted December 15, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted December 15, 2010 Denver gets picks and Favors, and Murphy isn't a scrub. It works for the Nets, for sure. Denver will now need to consider trading Billups (or at least give him the opportunity to speak his mind about where he wants to go with the rest of his career in a rebuilding situation), look 3-5 years down the road, and move on. I think this is a better move by Melo, assuming he does agree to sign the extension. Just makes it easier (even a little bit) on the Nuggets. Built Ford Tough
I'm sure that the Nets and Nuggets have agreed to a Melo trade, but the real question is whether or not Melo has agreed to the trade. The Nets and Nuggets have probably had this deal on the table for months now (not the exact deal as the Nets will probably be moving the two picks they acquired earlier today, but the framework), but it will never be completed until Melo agrees to sign a long term extension with the Nets. This was basically reported late in the summer. Nothing new has developed here. Edited December 15, 2010 by Built Ford Tough
AboveLegit
Too many conflicting reports here, so I doubt anything new has happened.
fish7718
IF the Nets did get Melo, that would only make me believe we are getting Ojay Mayo more, so wouldn't be a total loss.
AboveLegit
christomasson Chris TomassonNuggets official said Melo will be in uniform Thursday against San Antonio.http://twitter.com/#!/christomasson/status/14918874633871361
Multi-Billionaire
I'm sure that the Nets and Nuggets have agreed to a Melo trade, but the real question is whether or not Melo has agreed to the trade. The Nets and Nuggets have probably had this deal on the table for months now (not the exact deal as the Nets will probably be moving the two picks they acquired earlier today, but the framework) The truth = in bold. But this is wrong... but it will never be completed until Melo agrees to sign a long term extension with the Nets. ... because the Nets are already quite convinced Melo will not leave in the summer to sign with the Knicks for A LOT less when the New Jersey-Brooklyn is not worth relocating to New York at the price of MASSIVE PAYCUT. But, there's no guarantee. It's on the Nets to believe this theory, pull the trigger and take the (smart) risk.
Owner Real Deal Posted December 15, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted December 15, 2010 Wait...so, Guru, why did you seem disappointed when you heard the news?
Check my Stats
Melo isn't leading anyone to a championship. Might as well just keep Favors.
AboveLegit
Melo isn't leading anyone to a championship. Might as well just keep Favors.Melo managed to lead Syracuse to a National Championship as a freshmen, he has what it takes to be a leader at this level.
