AboveLegit
Got the idea from Finch23 in the Milwuakee-San Antonio gameday thread. Is it still Dwight Howard? Here's the league leaders in blocks per game: 1. Andrew Bogut- 3.112. Darko Milicic- 2.683. Dwight Howard- 2.354. Serge Ibaka- 2.355. JaVale McGee- 2.36. Pau Gasol- 2.197. Josh Smith- 2.198. Tim Duncan- 2.09. Amare Stoudemire- 2.
YugoRocketsFan
I am gonna vote Darko, he doesn't play a whole lot, but he is very good at shotblocking, he just reads people well and doesn't shotblock people by jumping 90 feet in the air. Jenneral
Bogut hands down. If you disagree, go watch the last 5 minutes of the Bucks-Spurs game last night.
The Regime
Josh Smith. He's undersized yet he makes the top 10, that's pretty damn impressive. Unlike all the other guys on the list who use their height and length, Josh Smith makes the most of his athleticism. There is no guy in the league who runs down more blocks and finishes with an emphasis. Edited December 16, 2010 by Confidence
Sħãlïq™
Voted DH12 FTW!!
Multi-Billionaire
I vote Bogut... He's not as athletic as Howard or JSmith but he is great at timing and reading opposing players, similar to Darko. But I'll give the edge to the shot blocking leader. *Swish*
Stats prove it's Bogut.. why wouldn't you vote for him!? I know Darko plays less minutes but what proves you he could get this other block on that stat sheet
Finch23
What I like about Bogut and Tim Duncan is that when they block the ball they aren't looking to send it 5 rows deep in the crowd. They get the block and secure the ball to give thier teams an extra possesion. That's not always the case with guys like Howard and Smith. Don't get me wrong Howard and Smith are great shot blockers, but would they be as good if they weren't freakishly athletic?
headliner
When the season comes to an end we will see that Dwight Howard will be at top of the in terms of his stats as the best shot blocker come season end.
Newman
Putting size into consideration...Josh Smith. Without that, however, Bogut is my vote. Dwight might have more block highlights, but Bogut blocks more shots at the moment.
Sun Tzu
I'd say Bogut is my favourite and in my opinion the best blocker. Next I'd say is probably between Dwight and Darko. Darko has come out of his shell lately and blocking seems to be his speciality.
