SEATTLE - A dash cam video from the officer who shot and killed Native American woodcarver John T. Williams was released Friday, showing Williams ambling slowly across the street in a crosswalk before the officer opens fire. http://www.komonews.com/news/local/112097619.html Seattle cops have no mercy Edited December 18, 2010 by Dabearfan101
trutrojan8
The guy was wielding a knife and wouldn't obey the officer, the officer had every right to at least be a little shaken by that... Did he overreact? Maybe, but if you were his point of view, you can never be too careful..
NomarFachix
7 seconds between "drop the knife" and multiple gunshots. Unreal. Later, fellow officers talk to Birk out of the camera's view. They ask, "How you doing?" Birk responds, "I'm all right. He had it open, I asked him to drop it multiple times, he was carving up that board." On the tape, Birk never tells fellow officers he was afraid and never says Williams was threatening anyone. Cool job, cop.
EastCoastNiner
I will usually support officers in cases where their lives could be in danger because you can never be too sure, but there is no doubt that this officer acted COMPLETELY out of control, and seemed like he just wanted to shoot someone? Seriously, five [expletive]ing shots?!?!?!
