Nets Attendance Better Than Last Year, But Still Worst

ESPN Attendance Report

Would bringing over a big name or two improve this? Of course. Our attendance wasn't bad in the VC days. But even then, we had advertisements for our playoff tickets on NBA.com. The Knicks have had excellent attendance through disastrous years, and Brooklyn can do the same thing for us.

Sure, Brookyln will increase attendance...But like you said having a big name is key but it's also the Nets. The Knicks have a lot of prestige and such a bigger fan base...even when the Nets move to Brooklyn they won't average anywhere close to the Knicks attendance. The Garden. The Knicks. The mecca of basketball.

They don't play and exciting style, don't have an individual player to serve as a draw for their fans, and they aren't winning. That will equal bad attendance. The Knicks are the only team that can be trash annually and still fill the building, it is unexplainable really.

It's not unexplainable. It's in one of the largest cities in the World, in the biggest basketball city in the World.

Sorry but I don't consider that a valid explanation. People act like New York has some rich basketball history like Boston or LA.

Lol...Basketball is played everywhere in the NYC..obviously you've never been there...look at how many great players NYC has produced....And the Knicks do have a rich basketball history - not necessarily winning championships but they are still an extremely successful franchise. If Jordan wasn't in the league, they probably would've won a championship or two in the 90's.

You don't consider being in one of the most populated cities in the world a valid reason? You don't have to have a rich basketball history in order to explain why they sell out all these games and are near the top of the attendance rankings year in and year out... the people of NY are crazy about basketball.

Yeah. Exactly. He's from Toronto so we'll give him a pass. Basketball is just so big in New York City. High School even...

Place show me a team that told their city that they are moving the team to another city the next year and wasn't last in attendance.

But the Nets attendance has always been bad...that's one of the reason's they are moving.

Not true at all lol. You are telling me we weren't selling out games when we were going to the FInals? YEAH OKAY

Not nearly as much as other cities would. The Nets had that incredible run when they had J Kidd and made the finals a year or two during that run and seats for the playoffs and finals could easily be had. It was not as hot of a ticket as most places it'd be.

You are just talking out of your [expletive] with no facts so I'm just going to stop here.

Everyone knows the Nets didn't get near the buzz and attendance the years they were very successful that would've been expected. It's that simple. Not saying they didn't get fans there, or didn't have fans, they did...
